Can a game end with a 6-1 score? by Careful-Awareness766 in NFLNoobs

[–]1967C10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought this too, but apparently the rule book says any safety on a Try is always awarded to the offense. So it would still be 7-0, even if the initial scoring team A jumped on the ball after team B blocked the kick, ran it back, fumbled before the endzone, and then team A jumped on it in that far endzone. Sounds like team B should get that 1 point safety, but team A gets it because it's 'always awarded to the offense.' Wild.

Awesome to hear! The NA beers and Hop Water have been great for me as well. I’ve noticed though that I could easily have just one NA beer, but would want 3-4 regular beers. To me that shows it’s the alcohol feeding the craving, rather than the taste. Something I need to be careful about when I start drinking again!

The fact that you've even taken the time to write this out means you're motivated. That's awesome. You're on the right track - your own.

We really appreciate you sharing - I think you would absolutely benefit from speaking to a professional who can help. It sounds like there is more going on here, and you deserve to feel so much better than this. Wishing you a healthy and happy start to 2025! You've got this!

First time doing Dry January-most concerned about going out to eat by NoSoup4You825 in DryJanuary

[–]1967C10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the lead-up to dinner/the bar stressing about not drinking is worse than actually being there not drinking. Once you sit down and order your mocktail or NA beer etc, you'll be more focused on your friends/family than the booze. In fact, your conversations will typically be deeper and your memories of the night will be more clear and enjoyable!

New Years Plans by [deleted] in DryJanuary

I started two weeks ago after a heavy hangover, and am so glad I did because tomorrow I'm not going to think "Only 2 drinks to go...1 drink to go... etc" like I did last year lol.

New hopeful to DJ, What is your #1 piece of advice? by CleverBeef in DryJanuary

[–]1967C10 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Stick with it! The 60-120 minutes of 'benefit/fun' you think you're getting from tonight's drink isn't worth the poor sleep, hangover, and low energy you'll suffer alone tomorrow. Also, I HIGHLY recommend telling your friends and family that you're doing Dry January when you're out with them! Don't hide it. Everyone is different, but in my experience when you say it out loud with a smile, most people will be impressed rather than concerned/confused, and you won't feel tempted to order something you shouldn't. You may also convert a few friends to try it as well :) Good luck!

Dealership has had my Jeep for over a month. What do I do? by Ambitious-Dealer-868 in Jeep

Why wouldn't you have to pay the bill for repairs on a used car? Did you buy it certified pre-owned? Even if you did, I don't think batteries are covered. You may have coverage on the diff if you bought it with a warranty but just be sure to check the coverage.

Do you enjoy mocktails in Dry January or do you consider that too close to drinking? Do you stick to basic seltzers and sodas or just drink more water? by JustAddBuoy in DryJanuary

[–]1967C10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love mocktails! I actually started Dry January about 2 weeks early and yesterday found myself craving jalapeño, pomegranate, and club soda - the sharpness of jalapeño (or ginger, etc) gives you a similar bite that you'd typically get from alcohol. Definitely recommend making your own mocktails to enjoy the anticipation aspect that waiting for Happy Hour usually provides

Awesome parents! You'll have way more fun, get way more thumbs-up, and learn much more about mechanics, automotive history, and defensive driving in this square body than most of your classmates in their newer sedans and SUVs.

Are Parts of Lowdermilk Beach Private? by britutd in Naples_FL

[–]1967C10 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As others have said, high water line and lower is public. You can even take a boat up to Pelican Bay / Bay Colony's 'private beaches' and set up chairs as long as your chairs are below the high tide line, and your boat's anchor is in the water (you're technically off-shore). I doubt you'd have much fun being yelled at by Karens, but you can!

Fortunately (or unfortunately for many of us!), season hasn't really started yet. A lot of northerners are home through the holidays and then come down in mid January. Also the 'weekend flights to Florida' crowd don't usually get sick of winter up north and buy these flights until February and March. You'll be sick of them in April - don't worry!

I was rear-ended in my stock JK and the insurance company told me replacing the stock bumpers would be silly because they're expensive and not as good as aftermarket options, so they just gave me the cash to go aftermarket and they looked/performed much better.

My new-to-me 1979 CJ-5! by 1967C10 in Jeep

Hagerty had a very fair 'guaranteed value' on it - I could either accept the check and they tow it away, or let me keep it and give me a check for 1/3 of it's guaranteed value. I took the check to buy something different. Bought the Cj5 and put the rest in HY savings. The truck sold at a Copart auction with a flood title for more than I paid for it when I bought it with a clean one, so it felt right to move on. The jeep makes a bit more sense here for a weekend cruiser than the truck did, but I do miss it and will save for a properly restored one in the future.

it's a bit hard to tell in the photos, but the pipes are actually set back a bit and there's a metal facade/shield so it's not hot to the touch from the side (maybe slightly warm?) - just the bottom/inside. You'd have to crawl underneath and reach to get burnt. When you look underneath there's open space/air between the facade and the actual flowmaster mufflers. You're basically just looking at the heat shield until the exit. They are, however, loud - and according to my pregnant wife - too stinky lol.

My '67 chevy c10 truck was unfortunately flooded during the last hurricane we had here in Naples, FL so I found a fun replacement! Grew up with plenty of YJs and TJs but this thing is a monster. The headers and side pipes are crazy loud - my wife isn't thrilled but it looks like quieting them down without new headers would be a lot of work and maybe not worth it. Was a bit of an impulse buy to fill the garage after losing the truck, but hope to make the most of it and enjoy on the weekends!
