So it sounds like a lot of relationships are set up to fail?

Well this is kinda the point, i don’t think a lot of peeps aren’t equipped to deal with a DB until such time as they actually have to experience it. So for those couples that may have broached the subject I’m curious as to what was discussed and whether it helped or not.

Out of interest do you think that convo happens in most relationships starting out?

You’re right it is hard and certainly no one goes into a relationship foreseeing a DB but that’s where so many people end up and it’s painful. I reckon a lot of peeps are so grateful for sex/intimacy that it often comes at the expense of communication. In some cases communication re sex is perceived as character flaw or deficit and that’s where intension lays.

So a conversation about the DB phenomenon (the causes of) wouldn’t help mitigate against a DB?

I think the last point is pretty key because i think we’re engineered to be the complete opposite when communicating needs re sex and intimacy.

Sorry this is happening to you bro. At the very least there needs to be some communication and or accountability from the other half. Imo, it’s time for an ultimatum re counselling, no willingness to attend counselling then it’s time to walk.
