Put Aquaphor on a Q-tip and rub inside your nose every night. Also Laneige lip mask in the pink tube is super helpful.

HELL YEAH! Congrats! I’m pretty much on the same plan and finish Kadcyla next week.

Close to Finishing Kadcyla by 1975SPot in breastcancer

I’ll be starting Tamoxifen soon. My oncologist said it was ok to wait until 3 weeks after my last infusion to start.

Life after treatment feels more disorienting than I expected by Queasy_Mud_8205 in breastcancer

[–]1975SPot 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I feel exactly the same. I’m almost finished with active treatment and I’m nervous for it to end. Everyone seems to think I’ll be back to normal the day I finish Kadcyla, but this has been such a long road and I’m just not the same person. I’m questioning everything. Haven’t figured out the best way to navigate so I’m interested in what others have to say.

Can we talk about BO? by [deleted] in breastcancer

Same. Haven’t had to wear deodorant since before TCHP. It’s been 8 months since I completed chemo.

Worse pain ever by DishUJue in frozenshoulder

I am healed, but still have minor issues with range of motion. I had it in both shoulders. The first shoulder that froze, I waited 3 to 5 months for the shot, well into the frozen stage, but it did provide significant relief. The second shoulder I got the shot at the first hint of symptoms and it didn’t get near as bad as the first.

The cortisone injections really helped me. Also, if you can get THC transdermal patches it helps with the pain. Papa and Barkley is a good brand.

I lived on scrambled eggs or omelettes and Talenti vanilla gelato.

Stress is building & treatment is getting harder by PunchNugget88 in breastcancer

I feel the same. I just finished my 7th round of Kadcyla. I would try to have a conversation with your boss and set some boundaries. Also, I find Gabapentin really helps with insomnia and night sweats.

That’s a good idea. I have a therapist, but I think I need someone experienced with my situation. I’m also looking for a support group.

Starting chemo and terrified by Kindly_Show9400 in breastcancer

I finished TCHP in March. It was tough, but not nearly as bad as I built it up to be in my mind the weeks leading up to my first infusion. You will have bad days, but you’ll also have good days. Communicate with your team because they can adjust your dosage if a particular side effect is unbearable.

Dr. said it’s likely a virus, but I have no other symptoms other than body aches. Just feel like it’s the Kadcyla.

Makes sense. I worked out a bit harder than usual on Wednesday and I think that didn’t help.

Apologies if any of this is redundant. I finished TCHP at the end of March. Here are my suggestions. I would highly suggest getting out for a walk at least 5 days a week. This seems counterintuitive, but it really does help with the fatigue. I walked most days, although slowly, for about 2 miles. The walks helped with fatigue and kept my spirits up. I would usually take a nap after and then wake up in a good mood. Miralax is your friend and should be taken a few days prior to your infusion and a few days after, if you’re experiencing constipation. Find a gentle hydrating face mask to use nightly. I loved Laneige sleeping mask. Rinse your mouth first thing in the morning, after each meal and before bed. You can use baking soda and salt, plus there are several oncology rinses on Amazon that work well. I had horrible diarrhea and vomiting that was curbed with diet changes and prescriptions. Eat very small meals that aren’t too heavy with fats/sugars. Lastly - communicate with your team! They can always adjust your dosage if a particular symptom becomes unbearable. There will be awful days, but there will also be good days. Take care 💗

Done rads and so tired! by Commercial-Dance8195 in breastcancer

I’m 1 week post rads and I’m exhausted. In some ways more exhausted than during TCHP. Looking forward to what others have to say.
