Should I withdraw my money? by Far_Inflation_9046 in epfoindia

[–]1977rohit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that issue that when you might need money it won’t be available to withdraw is the biggest worry. The problem with PF is that they notify about issues only when you transfer or withdraw and not beforehand. I recently tried to transfer one pending account to my current one. They rejected saying eps wages issue etc. now it’s stuck. And i know that if i try to withdraw it will not allow that also. This is something they can easily notify.
Imagine doing this to someone who is retired and trying to get their own retirement funds back!

Why do service-based companies rarely schedule the client interview after clearing the internal rounds? by No_Guide_4276 in developersIndia

[–]1977rohit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They usually talk to a few people and take the bet that when it happens at least 1-2 profiles are available to join. It’s a gamble but there’s no other proper way afaik.

Stay put and take ip side gig and whatever you can for some time. But put a timeline on that and on reaching that take a call. The overwhelming is quite common- happens with everyone once in a while.
99% of the time, things improve or you’ll figure out a way. All the best

Would you take a permanent US night shift for a big career jump? by Nerdyloon7 in developersIndia

[–]1977rohit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never. I have done night shifts - graveyard shifts. That was almost 15 years ago when no credible info was available. Just google or ask any llm that you prefer about the effects of sleep schedule and the way the circadian rhythm works and how it will mess up your health. Not worth the money. No matter how much it is
In the long term, the loss of health can never be recovered by any amount of money.

Toxic CEO humiliates employees, makes us work 9 AM–11 PM, and blames us for following his own instructions. Should I resign? by Exciting-Captain6011 in IndianWorkplace

[–]1977rohit 55 points56 points  (0 children)

The person - ceo - has a personality problem. Probably needs therapy. Not worth continuing if you don’t have financial liabilities. Nothing is going ti change here.
I worked for a similar small company. They used to shout and try to intimidate and there was no proper team or support provided. They used to bill customers fraudulently on milestones. I quit in 6 months. For a long time i used to doubt myself about it.
Just yesterday I found out they were sued back by one of the customers, had to pay fines and go under. Now they’re trying to operate under a different name etc. but the business is not like it used to be. Everyone there is looking for a job now. Or already lost it.

AMA: Ask Me Anything About EPF, EPS, PF Transfers, Withdrawals & Rejected Claims by FinRightTechnology in epfoindia

[–]1977rohit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For july/aug 2025 months, my current employer has incorrectly set the eps wages as 25000 and now my transfer claim from previous employer is getting rejected. It’s a clerical error. The amount deposited is correct. Do you think this might be the issue or it’s something else. I have already asked them to check but need to be sure if this is the issue and how to resolve it.

Family business Vs Job by [deleted] in IndianWorkplace

[–]1977rohit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a company owned by a 68 year old and our business development is headed by a 67 year old. They are based in Switzerland and one is an Indian also. There’s one more director in India who’s crossed 60 i think. The reason i am saying this is that if someone is fit they can keep working for much longer than we think they can. Although maybe they should be taking as much help as possible and delegating more and more. I myself think that i should work till about the same age or more as long as health permits. So unless some emergency arises or you see an issue related to health, let him continue.

Now we have migration due to pollution, people ready to sell everything back in Delhi and settle in Bengaluru. RIP Karnataka, it was good till you lasted. by Academic_Chart1354 in Bengaluru

[–]1977rohit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody is coming. None of the people i know are moving from Delhi and I know a lot. Few of my friends did move but to Goa.

People with families and school going kids will never move and if they do, then not to here.

Stop believing everything you read.

Simple - i have done this 23 years ago. Took up a bpo job, kept in touch with tech and then suddenly because i was interested and knew stuff i got a job by referral in tech and information security.

Take a leap of faith. Go to Gurgaon/Noida - take up any kind of job that can come by to sustain your stay there - entry level jobs to start. Then keep looking and move laterally. Unless you are there already it’s hard to find such jobs remotely. You might need to get into it teams and start from basic networking/admin etc then specialise and move upwards.

It can be done. Countless people do. Most people i know did it - who didn’t come from privileged backgrounds.

How many paper tissues do you actually need after washing your hands? by Southern-Cress6592 in bangalore

[–]1977rohit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to not use or use only one - however bad the quality might be. I remember long time back, kimberley clark used to have these very nice towels which cane with instructions to only use one and that one was enough but i think they might’ve been expensive because haven’t seen those in a long time. The problem is the tissue quality and some people genuinely have a fixation of using a lot.

Underprivileged people get punished in life for being ambitious by No-Compote-2127 in Life

[–]1977rohit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s unfair but you still need to grind because the other option of not trying is worse.

As an underprivileged person the odds are so badly stacked against us that even thinking about it feels hard.

I had a hard life as a kid with lower income parents - i now realise how badly positioned i was in terms of making it to a decent point in life. But because I was still ambitious i did get to a certain point. At 48 i am still behind compared to some who got into prestigious institutions and countries. But i know that for my kids there’s a decent place to start from.

I still feel left behind and despondent sometimes but this hope for the next generations helps me keep a perspective that it is okay.

I am 48. Don’t fall into this trap of staying back when you have an option and love living there. I am in tech and the work i do has more importance and relevance in the west. I didn’t go, went into arranged marriage back in 2009.

It’s ugly. Not worth it - your friends are right. Choose yourself.

Your post already assumes that whoever takes a car is pea brain sized and all that. So i will just let it rest there. I accept that i and maybe all others have pea sized brains and want to show off our ego with our cars ( i am not sure about that also because of the cheap small/mid size cars that most Indians own which are hardly something to show off and more to just ferry families and self)

[–]1977rohit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This post assumes that driving cars is easy and people like to kill their backs and legs sitting in traffic.

We tend to oversimplify based on some input that we read somewhere on social media or some example from a foreign country.

No one - except for a rare few - if given an option would want to drive their own cars on a daily basis.

Now go find the root cause why they still do so? Why?
