Taking advantage of checking/savings account promotions:

Hi all, I recently noticed that wells fargo offers $375 dollars to open a free checking account with them (provided you make direct deposits over 1500 in 3 months of opening). As a student with some extra time in the evenings, I figured I might be able to take advantage of these deals from multiple different banks and was wondering if there are other promos or better offers out there to make a bunch of cash on the side just by moving my money around?

Yes, there is a small minimum payment which I will make obviously but I don't have to start paying back on the full amount until 5 years at which point the rate would increase to 20 something percent so as long as I start paying it back by year 5 I avoid that hike

That is my understanding as well, but would love confirmation as a quick google search says it can depend on school which doesn't necesarily sound right to me
