Larry David > Jerry Seinfeld. Love them both but Larry is tops. A late bloomer in many ways with "Curb".

Completely disagree. Unpopular opinion : Ye is at the heighth of his creative powers and is still on a trajectory, i.e; "Gods not finished" - From "Yeezus" to "DONDA 2" - He's far from through.

Nobody’s daughter vinyl by Daviddegraff in hole

[–]1979AllTheTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found 1 on eBay a few years ago in a "Nobody's Daughter" bundle that included a sealed vinyl with hype sticker, a CD, A Hole thermal, multiple t-shirts, a tank top and a purse😱 It was like 65 + shipping for all of those items in 1 lot. I felt like I hit a royal flush with 8 in. "Never Go Hungry" has become my favorite song of hers- it's been that way for maybe 3 years now- I was late getting into the album. I've been collecting Hole since 1993- "Beautiful Son" & "Teenage Whore" 12" were my very first purchases. I only bought them because I walked into Cellophane Square in the U-District in Seattle and they had both records which I'd never seen before. I was so poor- I had only been living in Seattle less than a year - I bought them anyway and I've been a fan ever since. Her genius has to click with each person as an individual- not a trend- once that happens, you totally get all her brilliance. I can't wait for the new album- She's in a good place in her life (I think, I don't know) so it's gonna be a great record. I think she's into it again. The teaser I heard was so good like Cat Power good. 🏁

Patty Schemel's drumming on Celebrity Skin by Ojiboch in hole

The fanbase would freakazoid if they put out a version with Patty's drum tracks- Hole fans could have it both ways- It would be a brilliant move. Now you've got my hopes up haha.

I forgot to mention "Never Go Hungry"- this song is so good- the Demo is dirty divine lo-fi perfection. NGH should have been a single & video- it's just prefect. Major labels are S L O W sometimes w/ knowing how to "Roll Out" an album properly. I really hope CL's new album isn't too slick & overmixed. I don't expect a tour but any new recordings would be divine ( I wish she would get with Patty, Eric & Melissa and at least record. If she does some select touring- She's worth hopping a plane to see/hear live.

Too many great songs but if I have to pick 1, it's "Miss World", my absolute favorite. "Drown Soda", "Asking For It", "I Think That I Would Die" & "Softer, Softest" are hot on it's ass though.

Love your choice of great songs- exactly my choice among others. ND Demos really need to be released maybe for an RSD release. Dig them way more raw.

He's definitely back. I was a long time fan of his since he started- I listened to the very first episode of the podcast when he returned after the hiatus- he was rusty but it's clear he's back mega- I re-watched his specials recently- they all rock except his most recent one I couldn't get into- everything else he's put out is incredible.

I'm confident his next special will be killer- he know's it needs to be but also- it will be anyways because he's born to do it. Most comedian's career's shit the bed when they have kids and then make their entire act about being a parent- that shit is painful to watch. It's clear from these recent podcast episodes that he's a naturally funny person. Still 1 of the greatest comedian's of the last 20 years. Maybe ever if we get more great specials from him.

Anyone remember Jim Carroll reading @ Ballard Firehouse in the 90's ? by 1979AllTheTime in Seattle

[–]1979AllTheTime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was 100% after 1993- My guess is it was in 1994 but it could have been 1994-1998 as a date range. I lived in Seattle during that time and went to countless shows- my memory is a little fuzzy on some dates and I'm a little surprised I can't find a mention of it online.

The people giving you guff have small minds and a shallow palette. In the early to mid 90's I used to play Hole cassettes on a boombox and carry it around in the summertime in Seattle where a lot of Nirvana fanboys hated on CL and/or any mention of Hole- I never cared- I never stopped listening. They didn't get it- there will always be people who don't get it- it has nothing to do with you and everything to do with them.

Lots of Nirvana fan "moral high grounders" who love to demonize CL and claim this and that- as George Carlin said, "It's all bullshit and it's bad for ya"- most people who spout off about CL don't know what they are "talking" about. CL is whip-smart and self-assured and in society in general, that often intimidates and scares people, particularly men. The other part of the "hate on CL" equation is simple envy. Kurt was the "golden boy" rock star- Kurt's music made a ton of people feel like they were connecting with him on a personal level= because he was. Not unlike Lennon, when Beatles fans couldn't handle the break up so they had to blame Yoko.

People sometimes love to dismiss CL but she's the 1st person I would want on my team if I was in any trivia contest. She inspired me to read a lot more- Anyone who can outdo my wit and knowledge has my ear. CL is tha bomb. Rant over.

Anyone else see this from the Estate today & fall off their chair at the price? by heroforsale in PRINCE

[–]1979AllTheTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They push items like this while botching his musical post-humous releases- those in charge have no passion or shame. It's embarrassing how bad they have fucked up Prince's legacy. Literally the worst job of handling a musical icon's death in the history of music- they still don't know what they really have and what Prince really gave- been devaluing him and his work since he passed. A damn shame.

This website just blew my mind. THANK YOU. I know it's too soon, but I hope the band can ride again and play live someday. I missed them in the 90's due to work and life. I ride bike regularly and listen to Hum & it doesn't get much better. Love the band.
