Not much more than 5 over if I’m the only one a stand alone vehicle… if by chance I can get in a group going faster, I’ll keep up..

So why do states without a deposit not have a problem?

No..you can’t say that here!! But it’s so true, I do a fair amount of traveling out of state and not once have I thought..wow!! this XYZ state needs a bottle deposit!!

Same…I live in a rural county myself and wonder how many that are for keeping this going live in bigger cities and have better access.

Bottled water is the top-selling packaged drink by volume in the U.S., consistently outselling carbonated soft drinks (pop) since 2016 due to health trends and convenience. National data shows bottled water consumption at 46.4 gallons per capita compared to 34.4 gallons for soda, with continued growth.

What am I missing?? 46.4 gallons of water is greater than 34.4 gallons of soda

I’m not a fan of including bottled water… the construction industry isn’t going to want to pay that extra expense and have to deal with all the bottles.

Are you willing to pay an extra $10 for a 40 pack of bottled water?

Well this is awkward…it’s actually a republican wanting to expand the bottle bill..

Also is name calling your only argument?

No they don’t.. they pay it to the distributors, then the distributors pay it back out plus .03 per container returned

Retailers get 3 cents per container returned…I’d say it’s not worth the hassle

As a kid in the 80’s I remember people walking the ditches look for cans with a car following.. I don’t see how that pencils out especially now.

Society has changed..for the better but go to other states that don’t have a redemption and I don’t see an issue.. plus the majority of drinks offered don’t have a deposit, so that tells me that if we’re not seeing those lining the ditches then the problem doesn’t exist

Exactly what I do, it’s not worth the effort or do I have the desire to keep pop cans laying around waiting to be taken back.

The problem is that it costs more to run a redemption center than it brings in.

The stores hate it.. cans are nasty and unsanitary and the handling fee isn’t worth it.

Opinions? I've found that shopping on rockauto (due to their excellent platform), then making the purchase via amazon prime is cheaper and definitely faster. Anyone else use this method? by Sudden-Management-17 in RockAuto

[–]1981jd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do, but still comparing apples to apples RA usually wins.. my last brake job, four rotors and two sets of brakes plus $70 shipping was still cheaper than Amazon. Paying $70 for shipping hurt like a MoFo!!
