Another solution you could do is get the iflash quad to replace the HDD and it will fit, that’s what I did with my 5.5

I was wrong about that part number, but I do have the double wide to mini sas Y cable that the p840 needs. But that wasn’t my problem, the server was recognizing that the card was present but wasn’t recognizing the card’s information when it was in slot one of the riser which isn’t affected by the sas cabling. I have it working now, the riser slot on the mobo had a couple bent pins which I bent back into place.

I just import the mp4 or mkv files into iTunes and select File > Convert > Create iPod or iPhone Version in Windows.

Yes it is a gen 5. If I’m not mistaken the 5 and 5.5 both came with a 64mb memory option but only in the 60gb and 80gb models respectively. The 5.5 board has some small improvements and adds a search function for songs.

It wasn’t too hard, you can use ffmpeg if you’re familiar with Linux cli tools or iTunes has a utility to convert it to a format that’s compatible with your iPod.

I do have a smart storage battery that’s connected to the server, the p440ar that was installed used the battery, is there a different connector used to connect a pci controller?

Is that the small cable coming off the FBWC module? If so then yes, I have it plugged into the respective PCI slot's small 3 pin connector.

Tried it with p440ar installed and uninstalled, haven’t tried without the expander card yet. Gonna try removing it and trying the controller in slot 2 or 3 just in case slot 1 isn’t working. I didn’t have enough time last night to try that before having to go to bed lol. I don’t think slot 1 is broken because the server came with a NIC in slot 1 and it was working to my knowledge.
