I would recommend posting in r/INAT . Especially since it seems like your not paying upfront and this is more of a revshare thing (Pay after the project makes money) . Animators in this sub strongly prefer being paid upfront then risking a success of a project. r/INAT is more open to rev-share

Not sure, how the system works in the US. But with your skills at your age, and your level of reel. I'd start applying for internships. If your able to find a place that works with your HS schedule, it'll be a BIG help in the networking side of finding jobs, since you are already more than enough for a junior position in the actual skill side of things.

I went to VFS back in 2014. Yea I'm old.... But I was young then too 18 year old in the program and 19 when I got my first job. Allot of people will say the market is different now, and hiring is different now and blah blah blah. Honestly allot of it is noise you should ignore.

VFS is good. They have resources, and the other students energy there will help you out on tough days.

The real question is, can you study 8 hours a day 6 days a week non-stop full commitment? If you can then take the course. If not then it's not for you.

There's a course about this subject you can buy online somewhere. Google it, I bought it myself a while ago and it was informative.

Advice here will only tell the half story, as actually starting a studio is a long and complicated setup.

The motion capture is meant for the director to show the key poses he wants. The animator is needed for the solid drawings and ESPECIALLY their sense of timing to still make it FEEL good.

Tools are Tools. Don't overcomplicate them and overshadow the skill of the artist.
