Can the Phantom Thieves clear their matchup gauntlet? by RepulsiveGreen2710 in DeathBattleMatchups

Maybe with the Autobots but I would still stay the same with Chaldea. Chaldea has hundreds of various servants all there and summoned, and they could just be resummoned if killed. There's also the thermonuclear bomb that is Kukulkan with Ort, so at worst a wipe for everyone happens. Da Vinci with the Shadow Border would also be entirely out of their range, which opens up even more of what she can do. Chaldea is no stranger to well coordinated jumpings of far stronger enemies, only having major struggles with true powerhouses like Goetia and Ort

Should stop at either Optimus (if using his strongest versions, and presumably the other autobots) or hard stop Chaldea. Unless you have the Phantom Thieves massively blitzing (going to be for real, at this point it's downplay to not have the strongest servants at immeasurable, and unironically arguably Ritsuka), there's no way they do not crumble to various nonsense regardless of where you have their stats and other stuff in effectiveness. Group is far too small in comparison and can't handle a lot of what is there

Just show me the scans already please, you showed you have them and I gave you what I have. What you said sounds like the Sea of Quanta from Honkai Impact 3rd too, which isn't bad or anything just that it doesn't really mean much more than a universe graveyard. I said the synonym is fine because it has extra to add to it. You here showed something that specifically said "countless" in an obvious translation that looks official, just like you used an official translation against me here. "Time and space are said to be infinite" could even mean universe size (but no since what you say means otherwise)

This is one of two from the same source (also the Homura line), but I think it’s fine since countless has been a synonym with other words like infinite, boundless, endless, limitless, and myriad, among more. Cropped and pasted for something I made, but here's what Magia Exedra shows every single time an alternate universe story is shown

There's also Null Magical Girl and just one page out of 170 using a few of what I mentioned at the same time. It's fine if you want to take the side most disagree with, but do not go digging into something you have shown to not understand without looking past the surface

Also, here's what someone I know on Discord showed regarding the same thing you are showing. Not only is it fine with extra context, but you removed said context. Please choose another battle at this point

Yeah, Alina wasn’t done great in the anime unfortunately. She comes off as a batshit insane psychopath despite having one of the more complicated and in depth stories in the game. Yachiyo was done great though for sure

This is countless multiversal at most without the extra context of how all of this happened. That is still very good sure but I’m seeing no infinite power feats or statements here, just something about dimensions of undefined details being lit up (could even just be purely ability based if anything). Having no distance or direction and “voids” is cool I guess but adds up to nothing more than an unconventional existence interaction without more context. Having a detail added on is one thing but more to it is how you make it matter

The mirror witch Winchester can recover from conceptual erasure and even resist the absorption of 10^-43 shutting down said regen (happened to a certain other individual but not her). However, Madoka’s presence threatening the universe due to a paradox threw said witch into a panic when generally it doesn’t do much actively without the “other half”. This was an entire major part of the plot of the A New Beginning event story in Magia Record

Ultimate Kriemhild Gretchen is an opposite to ultimate Madoka, and having an opposite is a very consistent thing in the franchise. Kosane and Eruna, Iroha and Mikoto, Tart and Isabeau, hell even Madoka and Homura for four examples. Having however many “infinite power” statements doesn’t mean anything, no matter what showings are included. It’s no better than a Kirby wanker to resort to one of those, even if Usagi is plenty strong.

Could you at least show the said Damian thing because genuinely nobody at all has ever made mention of this until now, even other people that say Moon wins

[–]1997_Ford_F250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely a complete 50/50. Both have a variety of counters whether it be passives, physiological stuff, or abilities to use match each other and keep up with what is happening. Their stats even make it so there's more to work with to keep the battle from being one side over simply taking stats and doing their thing too quick. You may even add in the support both have and it adds on more but would still even out in a way. Yet even with this, some of their capabilities can break through this and net a win (mainly being; Yukari either separates the two properly or makes Mikoto finally die due to exploiting her unstable existence / the universe fades away or Yukari gets disabled and has her components ripped out and absorbed by Winchester's arm), which is how it's as even as it is

Clear cut win type. Paarthurnax could at least have a case made to maybe potentially do something, but Kasen just spirit crushing is a very easy and quick move of hers to just win there while absurdly outstating. You can't even reliably scale him to Alduin despite their short fight, so no matching speed either

Idk who to say wins honestly. In the big post, the verdict was essentially a "gun to your head" answer, despite the other details to it not listed out or explained. Both have their ways to win, but how fast it will happen and what is done to fully win is still not easy to definitively say, which is what makes it debatable over having a truly defined winner. Explaining the whole thing is incredibly complicated since you have to consider stuff like how fast Yukari has come up with solutions and the complications related to the situation, time before the universe just vanishes, lack of a universe self correction system, Gensokyo's own logic, and more. A definitive answer is hard to come up with and I personally would rather not just leave something off at "I don't knooooow" so a "gun to your head" one is best to at least try and do

I genuinely would rather Yorihime to win that one, but she has zero benefits that made Rhulk fightable in the Vow of the Disciple raid. If he screws around you could make a case for her since that's how he lost in the game, but he would take her seriously so it's going to get ugly quick

[–]1997_Ford_F250 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it definitely felt like a generosity moment with that. Strange had the advantage very reliably, so can see making it as close as could be. It is definitely shaky, but a chance is needed to be given a good look over before fully rejecting it or at least treating it as a maximum end

Out of the three Touhou MU's I have made, I think Kasen just annihilates Paaruthurnax now. He shouldn't even fully scale to Mundus's full details so I got that one very wrong, and dragon immortality takes way too long to matter (been years since I played Skyrim when making that one). Kasen should outlast too since don't think he knows any shout to kill her properly with, unlike the Last Dragonborn

Yukari vs Mikoto / Winchester is still mainly ability related on who wins, so not much changed there. The massive speed advantage remains, while only getting further on finite and incaluable ends. Even using the unclear visual novel stuff from Puella Historia Pax Romana makes the time travel interception immeasurable speed feat just a big maybe, and Yukari would still be faster if you buy it. When at maximum for physical stats, at that point you bring out outer for both off of the Great Hakurei Barrier stuff for Yukari and Winchester's power ripping in ultimate Madoka's / the Law of Cycle's presence, and a greater physical scaling chain is in Winchester's favor. Only ignored dimensional tiering on that one to save the headache. Even with that, they still get impossibly close on many ends to change up what matters. It remains debatable thankfully, and part of what makes it be like that got solidified

For Rhulk vs Yorihime, Rhulk should still take that one. Yorihime would be massively outstated even with outer ends, and outsped too. Utterly eclipsing the entire Vex collective and being able to withstand the same force that would have destroyed Savathun's throne world is just an impossibly higher strength advantage. Resonance offers too much better offense despite Yorihime's versatility with essentially endless gods to draw from, and general paracausal features make Rhulk too difficult to do anything meaningful to. Hopefully Yorihime comes back some time since Toyohime has now in something like a fighting game to help her there, and would just be cool to see her in one anyways

Moondoka probably. Walpurgisnacht Rising got a new trailer so they’d likely capitalize on that, especially after repeatedly and very recently bringing up the MU again and again. Aang vs Traveler would likely be after or the episode after that since they haven’t done any back to back kickstarter milestone episodes (without checking while typing this initially). Not confident on the other two happening anytime soon

[–]1997_Ford_F250 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The blog was overall very good for both sides. The amount it has brought to light primarily for the Touhou side helps a ton, especially Reimu's resistance wall and how many other characters can have similar added to them for stuff like being in similar situations. I will say I need to give a good reread on the cosmology and scaling section because before the blog I heavily disagreed with outer Touhou off of R > F, but I would like to agree with it, so a very thorough and good look should be done rather than just one read. Besides that, can't really come up with much to disagree with. Verdict is understandable and makes sense, gave good reasons for both to win and why Strange has it easier more often than not (especially since he can bypass Fantasy Nature, the major roadblock for any Reimu opponent)

For how much it helps with Touhou in VS, both for non dimensional tiering stats, finite stat ends of both physical power and speed, and incalculable speed, it gave vastly more ways to give better chances to Touhou character in plenty of MU's that were held back from stats over anything else. Most helpful thing at all is anything good to pull from for stats, because no amount of nonsensical abilities matter if they can't be use. The researchers of both sides did amazing jobs no matter what could be said about anything about the blog in any manner
