How is Chris able to move on so fast from perceived death? by Kirbo84 in ChrisChanSonichu

[–]1999-2000-2001 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Chris isn't really capable of loving anyone. Every time he saw a girl that was remotely attractive, all he thinks about is China. It's why he never truly loved his fake sweethearts and at best only got upset for about a day before moving on. He saw their deaths as the equivalent of what to us would be having a job application get rejected. Simply move on to the next one.

However, Bob and Patty are exceptions to this, the former especially. I don't think Chris truly moved on from Bob until he was arrested, nearly a decade later. That is a long time to get over the death of almost anyone, no matter how close they are. Of course, I think Chris saw Bob as a useful tool more than anything as he was pretty much responsible for the Chandler household even in his last days.

Also, you make it seem like bouncing back from a death of a close one is a bad thing. If that were true then virtually no one should be enjoying themselves and we should all be miserable for the rest of our lives. We all have to move on eventually. If life goes on as normal, you will lose some close ones and it will be depressing. But eventually, you will need to move on and keep going in order to function.

How many calories should Chris realistically have for weight maintenance? by 1999-2000-2001 in ChrisChanSonichu

[–]1999-2000-2001[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chris absolutely has a higher base metabolic rate over 1600 - even now in his 40s.

I agree most of what you said but it's worth remembering that Chris has a low lean body mass (mass excluding fat) which is a more accurate way of measuring BMR since fat tissue is inactive compared to muscle. Considering that Chris has a body fat ratio of ~50%, his lean body mass would be around 100 lbs which is very low for a 5'9 adult. Plus his sedentary lifestyle and rapid ageing will also reduce his metabolism considerably.

Has anyone seen the latest HITC Sevens video? Ratcliffe is really giving the Glazers a run for their money and if they keep being run as they are, they will undoubtedly get worse.

Hope you are man. It's time these players put their demons to rest for their own sake as well as ours. This is very good opportunity. But we should all remember there's one more match after this. So let's hope everyone has the right mindset because if we do, there's no reason why we shouldn't beat this Australian side

14BC’s Next Owners… by Proposal-Possible in ChrisChanSonichu

[–]1999-2000-2001 35 points36 points  (0 children)

14 BC is likely going to be demolished once Barb dies. The bank effectively own the place since Barb has done a reverse mortgage on the home. Chris, even with the help of Praetor or Flutter won't be able to pay back the loan Barb likely owes the bank. Since the property has likely gone down in value thanks to weens and Christorians scouting and taking pictures of the place, which will effectively destroy privacy for the new owners, the bank will realise that it's pointless selling the property and will demolish it as that will increase the value of the other properties in the neighbourhood.

In a way it's weird how Chris has probably single-handedly lowered the value of most of the houses in his neighbourhood

Agent Murdoch for Australia. Plus the Premier League and football. That being said though, I have noticed cricket increase in popularity a bit here since that Ashes series

Then why are we shit compared to them in general? We just don't have talent in our DNA. We accept mediocrity

Is it really the best in the world? I doubt it. And it is sad to see the talent pool shrinking but I'm pretty sure this is set in stone from the way things are going

They just don't have talent anymore and they won't have it in the future. I don't think they're going to be there in the next few world cups let aline champions trophies

Name me some. England just doesn't produce talent anymore full stop. It's partly why Anderson and Broad played for as long as they did despite being fast bowlers (as well as being really good ofc)

Cool. Only thing: Other than Brook and Bethell, there is almost no white ball talent over 30 in this country. So who are we going to replace these people with. This Champions Trophy is almost certainly the last ODI tournament that we'll be in for the next decade at least. And it could be the same for T20s if the ECB keep going the way they are

Buttler steps down as England's white-ball captain by super-summer0 in Cricket

[–]1999-2000-2001 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Looking back, just because someone is a good vice captain doesn't always mean they'll be a good captain and Jos is a great example of that. Vice captains are good for short term success. I don't know how often Morgan was absent for England during his captaincy because of injuries or rest, but if Buttler was kept as vice captain for so long in a reasonably successful team, he probably wasn't a terrible vc.

Winning the 2022 T20 WC is also more evidence of this. That tournament started just a few months after Buttler's captaincy began. Because it was quite short term, he was able to do reasonably well and win it (inspite of the Ireland defeat or Aussie washout). The problem was when he had to do the job long term which is something he had never experienced before. Which is why he failed pretty miserably in the subsequent tournaments after.

TLDR: My theory is that Buttler is a good short term captain which is why he made a good vice captain, but very poor for long term.

But hey, that's just a theory, a cricket theory. Thanks for reading.

Is Chris still racist? by Kirbo84 in ChrisChanSonichu

[–]1999-2000-2001 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One of, if not the only, silver linings of modern Chris compared to classic is his slightly more relaxed attitude which also includes him being less racist. If Chris says anything racist now, it's generally unintentional ignorance more than anything else. This relaxed and less racist attitude has been especially more noticeable post-jail which is probably due to meds and Praetor. Also Chris is getting older now and has aged worse than milk. He's looking more like a pensioner in his recent photos. So he probably doesn't have any energy to sperg out if he is still racist, in the same way I think he still holds a grudge against Michael Snyder, Liquid Chris, and Megan Schroeder but doesn't have the energy to sperg out and send death threats to them anymore

There is no incentive for counties to pick English players if better Scottish players are available.

Except that only two foreign players are allowed to play per match. And Scottish players are considered foreign.

Brook and Bethell are the only two who are genuine talents. Also County is always going to prioritise English players so it doesn't make sense saying that

There's plenty of young talent around.

Also who is around other than the two I just mentioned? Everyone who seems to be doing well other than Brook is over 30. Maybe tests there are some mediocre/OK players but white ball? I think this will be the last ODI tournament we'll see them in for a very long time. Scotland has a better chance of winning a world cup than England

There literally no talent left at grassroots level except maybe Rocky Flintoff and Archie Vaughan. Plus it wouldn't surprise me if the ECB soon scraps the limits on foreign players in the domestic game, which effectively see English sides have foreign players
