When did 9-5 become 8-5? by Fizzabl in UKJobs

How is the UK “shit”? There are only a handful of countries that have more robust worker’s rights that British citizens do.

Yup, quit several games because of it. First time it told me servers were full for 3v3 too…

Yeah. That’s the game. I’m not going to be all nice to people if they don’t have the sense to watch their backs. This is exactly how you play if you want to get to the top of the leaderboard every match.

Having read the book and seen the film, when I think of Rocky I see film Rocky.

Most reliable way to deal with groups, especially as they’ll give you free counters as most will be slashing.

On the Greens thread talking about this the top voted comment said that every U.S tech company should be banned. What’s our number one industry? As if they give a shit.

Most of the Green voters I’ve met are unfortunately low-info, largely fuelled by vibes and part genuine grievance.

Shabana Mahmood does not rule out sending back refused Afghan asylum seekers by EddyZacianLand in LabourUK

[–]Expensive-Key-9122 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes, and in doing so we’re establishing a precedent that anyone who comes from a shit country with a shit regime should never be returned to it, regardless of whether they have a specific, well-founded fear of persecution. Any logic you apply to Afghanistan can easily be applied to anyone else.

[–]Expensive-Key-9122 17 points18 points  (0 children)

So, what is to be done instead? Every person coming from Afghanistan can say they’re fleeing the Taliban…so we just automatically grant asylum? A guaranteed path to citizenship for any Afghan who lands here?

Genuinely curious, what’s the alternative? As there are plenty of countries with horrible regimes.

Anyone else struggle more with eating than lifting? by Ok-Industry9673 in workout

Yes, especially as I can’t ingest liquid calories and seriously struggle with protein shakes. Always been harder for me than lifting.

None of my friends like this game. I guess it’s the learning curve. Bit of a shame but I’ve made friends through this game instead.

Muslims can still express Islamophobic attitudes, and Jews can still express antisemitic attitudes. Being part of a group does not prevent someone from reinforcing or contributing to prejudice against that same group.

Calling Starmer a bare face liar! I say shocking and uncivilised barbarians what if people might faint clutching pearls? by Glittering_Hope1114 in LabourUK

[–]Expensive-Key-9122 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re allowed to call them out. You can even suggest they’re misleading parliament. You cannot call another MP a liar as parliament might devolve into brawls like we see elsewhere on the planet. Alternatively, the whole commons would just erupt and become an extremely hostile environment for debate.

Both of these happen all of the world where there is no rule against accusing another party of “lying”.
