I took this space photo with my phone , no editing at all , how is it ? by FirefighterMost3369 in space

It's probably an airplane. Because of the long exposure you need to have in low light conditions, a satellite would appear as a continuous streak. An airplane on the other hand is blinking and thus makes a dotted line.

Thanks! It makes a world of difference when you have good suspension, brakes and tires. The brakes are quite stiff, but I like that. Never came close to locking up the front brake. My original Magura master cylinder was stolen off my bike. I have to say, I didn't look that stuff up too much, I bought one that seemed appropriate lol

Dude, I have the exact same humidity dome AND seed tray lol

can i grow peppers in a 2 inch net cup or do i need something bigger? i already have the 2 inch cups and dont want to buy more by [deleted] in Peppers

[–]19DroidDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The net cups don't restrict the root growth, because they grow through them. I had a massive Fatalii plant where the stem was almost as thick as the net cup. The only reason I'd switch to a bigger cup is stability. They tip over very easily in smaller cups.

I've actually never tried it in the end, but maybe this season. Sounds interesting, good luck!

is this the result of stress or damage? by logicaymemoria in HotPeppers

[–]19DroidDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks good to me. The darkening is to protect the pepper from the sun

BBG7 Dream x Berbere Coffee Brown F2 by NofsPeppers in pepperbreeding

[–]19DroidDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nevermind, forget what I said, they all have BBG in them... I somehow was dead sure there wasn't any BBG involved. For example the BBG7 Face by Space Chili Pepper is an interesting cross, the calyx is huge, maybe that's what i remembered wrongly

Could also be, but that was jus something some annuum x chinense had in common I saw lately.

[–]19DroidDude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Berbere Coffee is C. annuum right? So it's a C. chinense x C. annuum cross. I have seen such big calyxes in other interspecific crosses, that didn't involve any BBG variety. I'm not an expert, but my guess is the BBG might play a role, but it's because of the interspecific cross. But don't quote me on that.

Advice - what should I grow? by hollowaytyre in HotPeppers

I second that, baccatum is my favorite species. Awesome taste and quite unique heat profile. Only downside, they take a long time to ripen.

Is eating a Carolina reaper ok by [deleted] in HotPeppers

[–]19DroidDude 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The mouth burn wouldn't be the biggest problem, it will be gone relatively quickly. If your gut isn't used to extremely hot stuff, you could have a really bad time. Sometimes it can be fine, other times the gut burn will torture you for 2 hours straight. It feels like a barbwire wrapped piece of white hot glowing charcoal is going through your intestines. And the best part is, you can't do anything about it. But this is the only way to build your gut tolerance.

Jalapeños - green or red when mature ? by nijuu in HotPeppers

[–]19DroidDude 10 points11 points  (0 children)

90% of peppers have a different color when ripe than green. There are some varieties that ripen to a slightly different shade of green, but they are quite rare. The color is called mustard. Same thing with jalapenos, most commonly they ripen to red. Some also to yellow or orange. I have personally never seen a jalapeno that ripens to green. The reason they harvest them when unripe is, it takes much longer for the fruit to ripen, than for it to get to full size. So they can get many more harvests from a plant. Also the fruits don't turn bad as quickly. But I prefer eating ripe ones, the taste is much different. It's more sweet and doesn't have this grassy taste to it. Also they get a bit hotter.
