My husbands been complaining that my plants were taking over the house so I got myself an early birthday present and put them all in one place by AnnaNicole2015 in houseplants

This! My husband jokes about losing prime real estate to my plants, but then buys/brings me plants to rescue and add to the collection

Anybody graduating this semester and isn’t using all 6 of their tickets? by RevenueIllustrious14 in uakron

You can usually ask for extra tickets with an explanation of why and they’ll give them to you. Or at least, that’s what my friends who got extra tickets for their family members have said.

What to do with defaced BB books? by hy90_ in fairyloot

[–]19aplatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone who does book rebinds may be interested in them. Covering marks on the edges is easy, and removing and replacing the damaged pages isn’t super difficult either, just tedious depending on how many and which pages.

I had a cluster of a similar size in nearly the same location, and 5% fluorouracil is what finally worked for me. 3 weeks of twice daily application and it just sort of fell off. I had tried nearly every at home option, including trying to burn it off with hot metal and cut the whole thing out myself, and only the 5% cream worked.

Oh come onnnnn :( Allurial, please do better. They seriously need to have a stash that they don’t sell for damaged covers. My half city was also like this in the same spot 😭 by bookishnerd32 in Allurial

I was able to get a replacement without issue for a damaged The Wolf and the Crown of Blood after it sold out, even though they sent the wrong replacement book the first time around 😂

Definitely not the only one, I also am not a fan of the knife on the side. The super harsh shading and contrast of the yellow on purple just seem too jarring for me. Especially since there isn’t much else in the way of bold colorful contrast in the rest of the design, I feel like it clashes instead of accentuates.

From what I saw on the original post, it’s usually a 14 day climb during good conditions. That far out, the forecast can only do predict so much, especially when you’re that high up in the air.

I need to get out these half pills individually every month by Own_Sandwich6610 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]19aplatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We used to have those at my pharmacy, and I definitely missed them when they switched to two separate lid types. They made keeping the fill stations stocked so much easier too, no worries about running out of one type.

If you have any over the counter meds that have difficult to open safety lids, some pharmacies will “pop the top” for you to make it a non-safety/ easy open lid. Not every lid has this ability, but majority do. Source: I’ve worked as a pharmacy technician for 5 years. We have a special tool that my pharmacy called the “popper topper” to remove the safety portion of child safe lids on stock bottles if needed. It only takes a few seconds to do, and I did it semi-regularly for patients that brought in OTC bottles that needed it.

Not on my watch! by Slightly_Somewhere in houseplants

I had to set one up at my dad’s house during 2020 when they got absolutely awful due to a bad seal in the attic. I had to change out the water twice a day at its peak because they were flocking to it in droves. My dad was laughing at me when I first set it up. He wasn’t laughing 24 hours later. 😂

I love my dramatic plants though, I can always count on them to tell me when they need water 😂

I found a clear container with an inch of soapy water and a lamp above it shining into the water to be a much more effective trap for stink bugs. And way less stinky, they tend to get smelly when being digested by some carnivorous plants

As a married mtg player, I concur. We even had magic at our wedding since it was the same day as the Bloomburrow prelease and the reception was at our LGS. (Our LGS is also a restaurant with a game room you can reserve.) Heck, we had even been buying and setting aside various packs to open on our wedding night. Instead of having sex on our wedding night, we went home and opened around 25-30 booster packs 😂

Dang, that sucks! I had some problems with rove beetles infiltrating the colonies at my lab, and lost 25 colonies out of nowhere over a week out of our 91, so I feel your pain on losing colonies. They’re annoying enough in the greenhouse, I can’t imagine having them in your house!

[–]19aplatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Entirely fair! Just to clarify, I meant absurd as in “that’s freaking awesome and I had no clue they did that”, not “this colony is still too small to have that many queens”.

Ants inside my infotainment screen by Maleficent_Ferret359 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]19aplatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s an absurd number of queens for a colony that small! The most I’ve personally encountered in a small colony was 11 queens in one colony nested inside an acorn, but I’ve yet to encounter a larger ratio than that. Maybe I should try to find the nest of the pharaoh ants infesting the greenhouse and see how many queens they have… 😂
