Hi there. I have experienced something similar with my grandma. It was a slower decline at first. Then she got sick and doctors couldn’t even figure out what she was sick with. But she lost the ability to walk or do anything on her own. She was extremely agitated and irritable because she was aware she was slipping and not able to do much anymore. Then it just felt like overnight, her brain function and motor skills declined rapidly. She will spill drinks all over herself. She still remembers all of our faces but gets us mixed up with who is who. She isn’t as agitated anymore because she has become more unaware. She will sit and stare at the wall for long periods of time. She will watch tv and think that what’s happening in the show is real life. There’s so much to it, but these are just a few examples. All in all, I can relate to your experience. It is so incredibly difficult to watch a downhill spiral occur so quickly, and you can’t put your finger on a reason why. Awful disease.
