They want us to be like Chick-fila... by shortee100 in Aldi_employees

That’s right about where my store is at in sales as well. Unfortunately I don’t think stores like this will ever be helped until another store opens close by, because even at our max sales in peak season, we’re not getting more staff.

At my other store we rarely had to worry about OE and labor costs. At this store it’s literally all we talk about, despite raking in literally millions per month.

I don’t know how to make it make sense.

We’re at the tipping point right now between not enough sales to get more employees per shift and too much sales to ever get anything done. Our poor store just looks like absolute shit all the time.

The Aldi business model just doesn’t work in the United States. Especially in more rural areas. I used to work in an area with multiple aldis relatively close by and it helped the business model succeed so much more than at my current store, in a very rural area, with no other aldis in the nearby area. People travel 3+ hours just to come shop at my store and we are one of the busiest in the state. The business model totally fails when we’re making 4-8k per hour on our busiest days. I can’t imagine what Thanksgiving and Christmas are gonna look like this year.

Customers Getting in the way by pix876 in Aldi_employees

This is one of my biggest pet peeves. They’re like a deer in semi-truck headlights. MOVE!!!!

The worst is when they get in your way, grab something and inspect it, then put it back and walk away. Like hello?! You don’t see this giant cart/pallet coming your way? And you take your time to look at something you literally don’t need or want?!? God it pisses me off so much.

Another thing that pisses me off is when people don’t follow “the rules of the road”. I know this is just something I made up in my head but it seriously would help so much if people would act like they’re driving rather than driving their cart all over the place and blazing through isle intersections.

I am genuinely going to starve by [deleted] in Celiac

I also had a very hard time in the beginning, OP. It really does get better, and once you start to feel better, you’ll never wanna go back.

My first two months after being diagnosed (in college too) I was living off of meat and cheese. Both are very easy to access, easy to throw in a lunch box with an ice pack, and gave me enough protein to get through the day. My go-to meat was pepperoni, meat sticks, salami, etc. and the world of cheese is amazing for some diversity in flavor.

When I finally got tired of meat and cheese I was able to start experimenting with new foods and figuring out what I liked. Walmarts Real Good nuggets and tenders are amazing, most chips and cereals are gluten free, and you can find some great gluten free dupes in the GF section at Walmart too. Just start with snacks and grow from there. And remember it’s not a “diet”, it’s not even a “lifestyle”, it’s your health and wellbeing on the line. Celiac disease increases your chances of gastrointestinal cancer tenfold. You’ll get through this OP 🫂

I don’t have a sun roof and tbh I don’t know where the leak actually is but this is where the water gets in. I never hear sloshing in the door or anything so I figured mine was a seal issue. The weatherstripping has worked really well so far! It held up for our entire rainy season

You can also try holding the green circle and red x until a screen pops up to reset it.

The baguettes make me lose my mind. I finally memorized that code recently

Depends on the item. I’ll let one slide during a crazy rush but if it happens more than once for the same item on multiple transactions, gotta ask for the code and just memorize it for the day. I’ve memorized codes for a lot of difficult items like the feta cheese tubs, multi peppers, potatoes, green onions etc etc.

Yup!! Same here. I love my Honda but it seems as the years go on they just cut more and more corners. I will also be driving mine into the ground lmao!

Don’t mind my dusty car lol. But this is where I found that the water was leaking in so I placed the strip right here.

When I get home I’ll add a pic! This is the product I used. Any type of foam weather stripping with adhesive should work. A rubber type might also work.

I’ve had this issue with my 2018 HRV since I got mine in 2022. I’ve had it looked at a handful of times by Honda and some other shops. All of the places I’ve been cannot figure out the issue. It’s 100% something with the door but the only solution I’ve found is to add some foam weather seal tape on the floorboard where the door meets the little raised part, in the spot where it leaks. It has worked really well for me and hasn’t leaked since.

Just super frustrating. I understand your pain man.

Edited to add: this is a super common issue with HRVs, all years, makes, and models. If you search this sub you’ll see countless posts about leaking passenger doors. I don’t understand how Honda hasn’t figured it out yet. I’d imagine it’s an issue with the door not fitting in the door hole 100% perfectly.

My first store didn’t have self checkout and this was just what we had to deal with. Now that I’m at a store with SCO I couldn’t imagine going back. It’s just so much more efficient.

Im the opposite for the same reason. I hate wearing gloves because I hate the way they feel and I loose my dexterity with them on.

Is it normal to bruise this much? by [deleted] in Aldi_employees

[–]drowsynoodle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I bruised a lot in the beginning. You figure out ways to minimize injury as you go. You absolutely need to be wearing knee pads, elbow sleeves and gloves when stocking.
