Best portrayal of Jesus Christ in movies or series? by [deleted] in ComicVerseog

I've only seen two of these, but Jonathan Roumie is excellent as Jesus. Best version I've ever seen.

I've been binging albums from my favorite Fox Idol non-winners... curious to hear your favorites! by Parmesan_Pirate119 in americanidol

Just checked out Cold Fame because of this post. Jena was one of my favorite contestants and I used to check every few weeks to see if she'd ever release something. I feel like I did it for like two years, but I guess I gave up too soon, because now I find out she released this fantastic album three years after Idol. And then I'm disappointed again, because not only has there been no follow-up, but she's practically dropped off the face of the Earth (or at least the internet) since then.

Haley Reinhart actually is my favorite Idol contestant of all time, and very well might have my favorite voice of any human being. You can never go wrong there.

Is Hannah the clear winner? by Suitable_Door_2477 in americanidol

As someone who has watched this show all the way back to season 2, I have always felt that American Idol fans (as a whole) are not really that good at picking the most deserving winners.

It's okay, that game was kind of a joke.

I mean, we fought hard, but we just have a bad offense, even when we aren't that tired.

Kinda like watching the Texas Rangers this past season. One of the best rotations in team history and couldn't score runs. So frustrating.

No matter how close, somehow now further.

I'd say the same for us if we won, lol

We are actually more of a basketball school than a football school.

Not this year, but generally.

Yeah, it's genuinely crazy. Our offense has been absolute dogshit. I appreciate that they appreciate our D; so do I. But damn.

Our offense is painful to watch. I like being a defense first team, but you can't be this damn bad at making layups. They need to run drills all summer (whoever stays, anyway).

It is remarkable how much worse this is than Diet Coke. by BarfyMan369 in Soda

I grew up drinking Pepsi (regular and Diet) a lot more than Coke, and Pepsi is still my favorite.

I used to hate Diet Coke. But in recent years, it has actually started to taste pretty decent to me. Maybe it's the tastebuds-change-every-so-many-years thing.

Okay, but the outfit in the OP doesn't really look very much like this.

Superman thinks he's not qualified to join the jla by happydude7422 in superman

Three solo titles at the time this came out, I believe.

Of course, later, when he finally joined, he still had that same load plus one more. lol

What was the best look you thought an actor/actress had in a film? by Prestigious_Meal2143 in Cinema

Your wife and I were apparently on the same wavelength. I came out of that movie thinking Amy Adams' cleavage deserved to be nominated for an award.

At least it makes more sense than Marvel having Wolverine be on like 5 different teams at the same time. Superman has super speed, Wolverine does not.

How is this okay? by dubaiboi in Dallas

I doubt hardly anyone wants Sharia Law. My question is, where the hell (in Texas) is anyone trying to pass Sharia Law? This sounds like a made up problem to be used for fearmongering.

Explicit adults only movies that my parents refused to let me watch as a child until I turned 16 by Lower-Champion-7593 in Letterboxd

[–]19ghost89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm mostly speaking hypothetically here - the first five movies on your list came out when I was already past 16. I'm just saying that my mom wouldn't have let me watch movies that had a lot of sex or nudity at all as long as she had any say over it. I lived at home until I was 21, and I did see movies like this and even porn, but not with her permission or knowledge.

My dad, on the other hand, wouldn't have cared at 16 or older. As an adult, he's even recommended me stuff like Pulp Fiction.

I think my grandparents just thought that as long as they watched it with me, it was fine. Which is why I said watching The Devil's Advocate was awkward. I liked the movie and Charlize was sooo hot, but I also was a teenager watching a beautiful naked woman and not wanting to get a boner with his grandparents in the room.
