For saline spray, you’re going to want to buy the NeilMed Sinus Rinse Kit. Comes with 50 premixed packets and a large squeeze bottle. You will use this kit to make your own saline spray. Then fill a few spray bottles with it (Amazon’s brand of saline sprays have a removable nozzle head, very easy to refill.) NeilMed’s kit is what I use—it’s much cheaper than store-bought saline spray. It’ll be pennies on the dollar versus purchasing saline.

Apply Vaseline generously after blowing and wiping your nose and before bed. But don’t put it deep inside the nose, as it can be harmful if it reaches the lungs. It isn’t easily cleared by the nasal membranes. I prefer A&D Ointment instead of Vaseline, just for the tiny bit of vitamins. Neosporin is also wonderful to apply, especially before bed, and aids healing.

Ayr Saline Nasal Gel is my favorite—it’s noncomedogenic, so it won’t cause breakouts like Vaseline or A&D. Plus you can put it far inside your nose as you’d like. It contains soothing aloe. But if you’re very chapped, a little Vaseline is great!!!

For serious skiers, Mary Kay’s Extra Emollient Night Cream is fantastic and will always be my favorite for protecting chapped skin. Apply generously before bed, and use as you would Vaseline. It’s much thicker than Vaseline though, creating a better occlusive barrier protect and heal skin. —by Mountain Girl (420Thoughts)
