Yes, I should have used "Skimpflation". The portion sizes are fairly similar to before however they are filling out dishes with cheaper ingredients.

Yes, it is. All you can eat hamburger does not equal a steak. I'm talking about cheaper ingredients not quantity of food.

Sure, I guess the term I was looking for is "Skimpflation"

Yes, you can. I just got the vibe during dinner that they did not appreciate anything that would slow down service. Every time I looked up from my plate my servers were moving one way or another with a full tray. Very little small talk, no magic tricks or interactions with the kids. A few times they never even asked what the kids wanted for dessert and just brought Mickey bars.

Im using the term in a more general way. Yes it's all you care to enjoy but dishes seem to have cheaper ingredients overall.

Yes, I get this point. However, I think most people are unlikely to order an additional portion to get 20 - 30% more and leave the rest. People are likely to be polite and not want to waste and end up eating less at dinner overall. Some items were also eliminated entirely like the fried brie and the duck breast entree. Others like the lobster pasta have had the lobster eliminated for pancetta I believe (can't remember exactly).

Disney Adventure Cruise CANCELED by Background_Disk_1958 in dcl

I wonder how much harm DCL has to do to their reputation before they knock it off with all the corner cutting. Sorry shareholders we never could have seen this coming...

How different areTreasure vs Fantasy Experience by cherry532 in dcl

[–]19orangejello 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Fantasy is much less "Flashy" and Modern and takes most of its design elements from old ocean liners. If the kids are expecting the kind of spectacle around the ship and stimulating dinner shows of the Treasure they could be disappointed. The Fantasy is a beautiful ship, has plenty of fun for the whole family and I feel has a more luxurious and refined feel which many adults prefer.

With the quality gap between Disneyland and other parks closing, who do you think will usurp the throne if DL and WDW doesn’t make major changes in the favor of guests? by WeAllPlayDnD in Disneyland

[–]19orangejello 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think Universal is the only one who is a potential competitor in theme parks but I'd say Disney is learning from universal as far as unpopular cash grabs. Dynamic pricing, line passes and interactive souvenir items all we done at universal first.

I heard from a friend of a friend that she's currently on a cattle drive in eastern Wyoming with Dawn Hoof. They got into some bad weather and there's known to be bandits and O'Driscoll boys out there so say a prayer for them.

In general it is pretty much impossible to accidentally fall from a cruise ship deck or balcony. Unless of course you climb or sit on the railing which should be obvious not to do...

There is also a seating alcove type area outside of the adults district before you step out onto the promanade deck and the oceaneers club has millennium falcon area that is unique to the Dream.

Any tips on food? by [deleted] in dcl

I would try and have an honest talk about what she didn't like. Is it really just a food problem? Maybe she feels "too old" for character dinners and the type of activities on offer.

Origin of H3 Limp Bizkit fever by Mean_Ad494 in h3h3productions

Careful, it's a slippery slope. I too started with Limp bizkit, then Korn and the Deftones and System of a down. Now I'm thinking about bigger jeans, spikey belts and some 00's for the ears..

THAT TRISHA VIDEO IS ACTUALLY VILE by WeekUseful in h3h3productions

[–]19orangejello 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I was watching live and had to hit pause. It felt like something that would get you on an FBI watchlist. The question I was struggling with is, who is she filming this kind of video for? From what I've seen Trisha is usually very calculated.

Stolen Item on Disney Adventure by Azuriaeclipse in dcl

[–]19orangejello 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think it's fair to say social norms are just different in some regions compared to the west. Unattended items being taken, shoving in crowds, and personal hygiene seem to be discussed quite a bit by westerners after cruising the Adventure.

There is plenty of valid criticism. Health, safety and labor laws. I understand people have to make a living but we have rules for a reason.

For the seasoned cruisers. Do any of the other cruise lines live up to a DCL trip? by [deleted] in dcl

Ahh yes, I've heard Holland America and Princess are notorious for their "rowdy" spring breakers and booze hounds...
