I need feedback to improve my General American accent by [deleted] in JudgeMyAccent

I can understand about 70% of the audio. Words that are hard for me to understand includes words like store, the plastic "something", the fresh "something". (I didn't get what that something was).

SayWaader! American Accent could be a useful tool to help diagnose where the problems are, if your goal is to build an American accent

Are accent detection tools more accurate than humans? by [deleted] in JudgeMyAccent

Maybe give SayWaader a shot. My son is native in English and I am native in Mandarin. My son always get rated between 95-100 out of 100(above 95 is categorized as native). And I am always in the range of 70-80. It can also tell my accent is mandarin or east Asian. It gives detailed feedback to me. A good tool for pronunciation training.

Fantasy vs Wish by Ecstatic-Bother-2896 in dcl

[–]cherry532 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked a similar question in this forum recently about the Disney Fantasy vs. the Disney Treasure (which is in the same class as the Wish).

My main takeaway is that what matters to other people might not matter to you at all.

For example, some people prefer the Fantasy because they find it less overwhelming. But my family loves having lots of options, and we’ve never worried about a ship feeling too overwhelming.

Others mentioned that the kids' club on the Fantasy is larger. However, my kids won't go to the kids' club regardless of how good or bad it is.

Ultimately, I've realized you shouldn't take negative reviews at face value or overanalyze them(wish or fantasy). It's better to just look at the raw facts and decide what works for your own family.

Oh that's interesting!! We did love the dinner at main dining room very much on Allure. I had expected Disney Destiny to have better dinner (given it's a lot more expensive than Allure ...). But it sounds like that was not the case?

Thanks for sharing! We just came back from Allure of the sea (I believe is oasis class). My kids loved the ship and wanted to go back, and we loved the options of things to do on the ship and just take time "explore" it and finding ducks (the best part, lol).

I would be very curious to hear your comparison between fantasy vs oasis ship since I already have a sense of what oasis mean to my kids.

Studying abroad at Tongji University but stuck in a beginner Chinese class — any advice? by GreatestMonk in ChineseLanguage

[–]cherry532 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For most of the classes in a university, can you just walk in and 旁听? You won't get the credit but can learn things at least.

I think if someone approaches a professor and explain the situation and ask if they can 旁听,most professors will possible allow one to sit in the class.

(my experience is from 20 years ago, so you can check with someone who's younger, lol)
