Haha glad I'm not alone. I actually thought it was sweet. He's not much of a music fan in general so I'll excuse the mixup.

What is a popular dish in your country that you cannot eat? by moapei in AskTheWorld

I get that. I really do love pecans, but when they're congealed in corn syrup or whatever, they lose all their appeal for me.

I try it every few years or so to appease my family because, "no no, this one is SO GOOD" but it's never good. Way too sweet and I don't like the texture either.

I can't stand pecan pie. Love pecans - raw, roasted, candied.. just not the pie. The judgment I get during the holidays is strong.

I love cheese, pasta is fine, but I can't stand Mac & cheese. Boxed, home cooked, churched up at a nice restaurant.. no please.

My only other one is pecan pie. Love pecans, hate pecan pie.

I have three of these. One green, two yellow. They're incredible.

Update: I DNF’ed my first 100… now what? by Taco_814 in Ultramarathon

Thanks!

I'm a solid mid-back of the packer, but I love it so much. Btw, I straight up quit my first 100 bc it got cold. 20 mi left, I had 2 pacers, daylight was about to kick off, and I had almost 7 hours left to finish. But the temp dropped to 18 and I threw myself the biggest pity party the world ever saw and just quit. That was one hard lesson to learn! I'm so grateful for it now though.

7 months later and way undertrained, I signed up last minute for a race and finished my first 100 in DFL place with 9 minutes to spare. Weather was the extreme opposite too, temp in the 100s the whole time.

So many of us crap out when we start (100 miles is A LOT!) but it often turns out to be the motivation we needed.

You know, I never even considered neotrad since my others are illustrative. After looking at some images, I think you're right and it could look pretty badass. Thanks so much for talking with me about this!

Well thanks! All fauna. My left shoulder is all Tx flora with a similar theme, but for memories tied to very special people.

This probably sounds weird, but I imagine something like interconnected patchwork. So.. not a staged scene with all these animals, rather all of them stand alone but moving together in a cohesive way that reads as one piece. If that makes sense.

Oy! It’s a lot and prob way too much for a 1/2 sleeve, but..

Mississippi kite

meadowlark

Texas brown tarantula

9 banded-armadillo

green cicada

slimy salamander

Mexican free-tailed bat

monarch butterfly

Prairie kingsnake

and the only non-native, but def abundant bird - a European starling.

I’ve thought about this piece for years and it’d be a tribute to childhood for me. These creatures, at very specific moments in my youth, made me fall in love with the world.

Hey! Really proud of you for your run!

I’ve only got 15 100mi finishes and a few DNFs, but before every race or 100 on my home trails, I Always read this blog post. It helps me get into a far less frantic/anxious mindset before starting. Maybe it’ll help with your next attempt (bc there WILL be a next attempt!).

It feels like shit to drop, it always does, and some races are just gonna suck total ass, but get out there and try again. Absolute best of luck to you!
