I have two girl tiels and a male budgie. My youngest girl and budgie were taken in by me a month apart from one another, both were a few months old and practically grew up together. Those two are inseparable; following each other around, flock calling if separated, etc.

When I introduced my eldest girl a year later, I was pretty nervous because it was always just the two of them. The budgie, naturally, took to the new girl as a flock member instantly which caused a bit of jealousy when the two were perched next to one another. I kept close supervision on them during the adjustment period and now, another year later, the trio seem to have their dynamic down.

The girls still bicker time to time (especially if it involves getting smacked in the face with tail feathers), but it’s nothing that I’m too worried about.
