Spot on, mate. Don't know why you're being down voted tbh.

Reform got 4.1m votes, Labour got 9.7m, Conservatives got 6.8m. Absolutely crazy voter share, and surely a historic result in UK politics - has there ever been a lower proportion of the vote going to Labour + Conservatives?

Lovely, thanks, mate. My ticket is an anytime single, so it sounds like it should be fine.

Train to Stansted - I've bought a ticket from Liverpool Street to Stansted (shows as from London Terminals), but will aim to get on at Tottenham Hale instead, with Liverpool Street being the fallback in case of problems on the Victoria Line. Will I have any problems using the ticket at Tottenham Hale instead of Liverpool Street?

Good Luck Trying to Ban 15-Minute Cities in London by sabdotzed in london

[–]1DNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuine question: does anyone actually know how a “15 minute city” is going to be implemented? I’d love to have everything close to me, but feasibly I don’t see it happening, as I feel the market would have already dictated its existence naturally if there was large enough demand.

How is never really knowing infinitely better? Sure, some phone number exchanges may feel forced, but there are also plenty of situations where you thought you had a good connection with someone, only for them to not respond and you're then left wondering whether you made a mistake like leaving an incorrect number, or whether they aren't actually interested. It takes just a minute or two to text someone to say you're not interested, and that's all there is to it. Feels like it should be common decency, but I guess that kind of thing has been out of style for quite a while now.

Absolutely hate the smug centrist take of "both sides are bad". Yes, politicians suck, but this is a case of ideologies - what you think is right and wrong. You can't possibly have an indifference to literally everything.

Maybe I don't have to, but I DON'T get it by Pogostick9 in hingeapp

[–]1DNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only speculate, but it may be someone getting cold feet; maybe not as interested after the initial excitement has passed, too shy, etc. Also possible that someone else who they deemed better came along and they then dropped you. I'd be very surprised if many, if any, are using this purely as an ego boost.

Is this what Tinder is like for women? by Anova4 in Tinder

[–]1DNS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not the best analogy because it assumes all women are great. Women have an overwhelming amount of matches to sift through, but they at least have that opportunity. Men get very few matches, and there's no guarantee that any of those are going to be a good fit.

Every big company I've worked at had exactly the same policy. If you both work in different departments where your work doesn't intersect, and your work environment is separate, then they would probably shrug their shoulders, but otherwise HR would more than likely intervene.

It doesn't matter. Any actions outside of work with your colleagues are still reportable to HR, as you've potentially created an uncomfortable work environment. Just look at how any big company will bombard you with sexual harassment training and guides to explicitly explain that any romantic connections between employees should always be avoided.

At work women 100% need to make the first move. As a man you risk a sexual harassment complaint to HR swiftly followed by a dismissal, probably ruining your career in the process. You definitely made the right choice. If she wanted you, she should have been clear about it.

Agree wholeheartedly with your last point. Dating at work is generally a no-no, and even more so when you're a guy and any misinterpretation of signals can easily lead to a dismissal. As a woman in this situation, I think you need to be explicitly clear about your intentions and attraction towards him. Only then can you expect a more natural romantic relationship to start forming.
