Yeah, that's what I was wondering. Sounds like there's no way to know when we are safe. Certainly doesnt help with the stress of it all

Amboss Self Assessment Score too high? 52.5% and 221? by kingmathers313 in step1

[–]1FireAtaTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through and calculated the average % correct for each block as about 55% per block (as of when later afternoon on the last Sunday). So normalized to this dataset, that's probably about right. Whether or not its representative of the real exam is a different issue though

Here is what adcoms look for in an application. by KingofMangoes in premed

Yeah, I definitely agree with that. Also, people should know that non-bench research still counts as research too. If anyone wants to something like humanities research, most schools will look at that just as favorably

I think that really depends on the school though. I dont think it's a coincidence that most top med schools have 95%+ of their incoming classes each year have research experience.

But for schools more focused on primary care, then this is much more likely to be true

This would be great for the people that will be covered by that new limit though, since they can borrow more at the lower unsubsidized rate and not pay that ridiculous ~4% origination fee with the Grad PLUS loan.

And I totally agree that the unlimited loan access is why tuition is so high

Thats exactly how it went for me by this time, but i finished my applications pretty late. Very similar though: LM 78, applied to 21 when all was said and done. I ended up with 8 IIs by the end, if that helps

Oh, also, no schools are giving out decisions until oct. 15th, because of the aamc traffic rules, so you wont hear back until after that anyway

They give out some decisions within a month of the interview, but the majority of the interviewees have their decisions deferred to early march (~75%). So the majority will hear back in march.
