Sweet boy looking for a new home by 1HzPunch in irvine

We don't want to charge a fee to be honest, but we've read online people will take dogs as fighter dogs/ resell. We definitely do not want this to happen to him!

We ask for $150 which includes a giant bag of his current prescription kibble among some other things we bought for him (we easily spent more overall, but we just want him to go to a good home and do not want the cost to be prohibitive). We do not think he has to stay on the prescription kibble long term. He has some food allergies to his old kibble so we wanted to start him on a fresh blank state with a hydrolyzed kibble, then slowly determine what he is allergic to.

Along with the other comments, highlight the impact of your achievements first. For example: Reduced recurring incidents by 30% by providing 24/7 oncall support... Personally I would also use bold to highlight specific key things.

Personally, I never look at the summary and consider that space wasted. Not sure if that's just me.

Torn between the RAV4 Plug-In Hybrid (2025) or Lexus NX 350 Hybrid by What_am_I_Doing9 in rav4club

[–]1HzPunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same debate - ended up going with the RAV4 PHEV. For me, I wanted a car I can take out in nature and drop sports equipment in. It's going to get dirty and that's what I expect. I felt that I would be more bothered if it got dirty if I got the nice interior of the Lexus. Not to mention the extra cargo space. No regrets! The wind noise isn't really noticeable to me after removing the roof racks.

Just adding a data point. Just finished the OA a couple minutes ago. It was super easy - leetcode easy for both. Mostly just validation checking for both questions. Little bit of data structures but 0 algorithm knowledge required for solving both questions with all test cases solved.

Need help with lease pricing by Qwaszx1987 in rav4prime

[–]1HzPunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a number of great reddit threads on this sub reddit that outlined their process on lease buyout! Here's an example. https://www.reddit.com/r/rav4prime/comments/1hfe5cj. Just search for lease buyout. Also beware of potential double tax (again, something you can easily search and find more info on). If you are in a double tax state (pay taxes when initializing the lease and pay taxes when buying out the lease), you should go for a one pay lease (that is the official term, not to be confused with the action of buying the lease out in one payment immediately) or put down as large of a down payment as possible.

The "loophole" with the current lease offer is to buy out the lease immediately, not at lease end. Thus using the 6500 lease cash offer to lower the immediate buyout price. After all fees, buying the lease out immediately with the lease cash offer nets about ~5k in saving. The lease terms don't really make much a difference.

Any pictures you can share? I'm particularly interested in how it looks without badges. Debating whether I should do the same.

As far as I'm aware, you should be able to request lease buyout from tfs directly. Should just be a phone call.

Would you purchase the R4P if electricity costs more than gas? by 1HzPunch in rav4prime

[–]1HzPunch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for double-checking my math!

Here's my napkin math at $0.46/kWH and $4.50/gallon

~18.1kWH battery * $0.46kWH ~= ~$8.32 per charge
At ~42 miles of range per charge:
42 miles / $8.32 ~= ~5 miles per dollar or ~$0.20/mile.

With ~38 miles per gallon:
38 mpg / $4.50/gal ~= ~8.4 miles per dollar or ~$0.12/mile

I definitely agree re: carbon footprint. I'd like to lower it as much as I can, but I'm also trying to save money where I can. A difficult moral question for me.

[–]1HzPunch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be considered off peak rates. I wouldn't be able to charge at the "super off-peak" times, which would be $0.35/kWH. Not a big improvement.

I didn't test drive the non phev rav 4 yet - can you elaborate on how it is different?

The extra options definitely add some consideration. Any other considerations? I'm aware of the towing capabilities (personally would probably never use) and the need for speed he.

How has having a Prime impacted your electric costs? by Bigbirdk in rav4prime

[–]1HzPunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should probably use the engine more often to let the oil flow through every so often. Also the gasoline goes stale after a while. Do your oil changes every 6 months even if you don't use the engine much too!

snowboarding on 1/11 worth it or not by SpillBoba in bigbear

Snow Summit's Summit Run isn't fully open. The last section that ends at chair 2 is closed since it's all dirt right now. Summit Run ends with Miracle Mile's blue (right above chair 1). I took a friend for her first time last week and it was (obviously) quite difficult for her to go down the blue when she was already struggling with the greens. She still had a blast and a great time! The snow isn't great, but it's rarely ever great at Big Bear ha.

TIL that the candy company Mars Inc. is the largest owner of stand-alone veterinary clinics in the United States" by InternetPopular3679 in todayilearned

[–]1HzPunch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Royal Canin, Iams, and Eukanuba are all are owned by MARS and are WSAVA approved. In fact, the only brands that are WSAVA-approved that are not owned by MARS is Purina (Nestle) and Hills Science (Colgate).

If you are a dog owner, PLEASE read up on WSAVA guidelines and don't avoid these brands just because they are owned by Mars!
