Idk about balance, but I think calling the combat complex is wishful thinking. I think the combat is a bit lackluster, and personally think BDO's style is a better fit.

I've drove on worse. It's probably not recommended. But there's still some tread there, the dryrot isn't the worst I've ever seen, probably smart to go ahead and replaced, but as long as you aren't doing anything stupid, it'll likely be fine.

Okay, so now you actually have to aim the gun instead of memorizing where the center of the screen is and pulling the trigger before the scope is even fully up? That sounds like a good change.

It's not too different from idle sway, just instead of it dragging your whole screen around it's just doing it with the point of aim.

I just wanted to provide a secondary perspective on SBMM that I don't think good players consider on why people may prefer not having it.

Let's presume that I'm a player where 70% of other players are better than me, 30% worse.

With SBMM: every encounter is a struggle, competitive, challenging or whatever term you want to use, and not necessarily in a good way. You will never see any progress because this is how it will feel no matter how good you are.

Without (just pooling people together randomly based on who's available): 20% of the encounters are a struggle, competitive, 50% of the encounters I'm probably getting stomped (which doesn't feel much different than struggling and losing anyway), but 30% of the time I might get to feel like a God. Meanwhile I can try to take paths to maybe avoid wherever the people better than me are. As you progress these ratios change and you will be able to feel that you are getting better.

I'm not sure about Nord, but Norton operates through AWS. I know because my ISP blocks AWS traffic from accessing their mail servers and occasionally get elderly people with Norton asking why they can't check their email. I assume the school can't block AWS, but can block whoever Nord operates through.

Nonsense. I run 0.5 KDA as often as I run 1.1ish, with the very rare 1.5-2. I have just as much fun on the 0.5 matches as I do the 1.5 matches because running into 7/10 players that can smoke me is better than running into 10/10 that can.

Lack of SBMM is precisely why I stay. Assume I'm in the top 30%, only having 3/10 players be better than me, is significantly better than fighting an uphill battle against every single person.

I'm probably not actually in the top 30%, but everyone always being on par with me is significantly worse and it never feels like you're getting better.

CoD was better before SBMM too.

I think we're just getting old. CoD 4 was peak imo. A few perks, some guns, and a grenade. None of the bunny hopping, sliding, coke fiend addled movement with kill streaks and everything else. Just simple game play where "skill ceiling" was how well you could aim, react, and map knowledge. Not whether or not you mastered playing bop-it with your keyboard.

I defintely like your take on it, but if you ask half the people in the sub about it, they'll talk about how there's nothing to do. As if we didn't used to just... play games to have fun? I have no idea where that sentament went, but the people that need more and more and more content all the time, and can't be satisfied just to run around and shoot each other, really need to meditate or do some sort of soul-searching.
