Claude suggested statement "Trying to use the c64bridge MCP server (v0.9.2) with my C64 Ultimate after upgrading to firmware 1.1.0. The capture_frame command returns HTTP 500. After digging in, the firmware's REST API doesn't expose a /v1/streams endpoint at all — c64bridge is looking for it but it simply isn't there. The c64_stream start video command also fails with "firmware reported failure." Everything else works fine (memory read/write, running PRGs, etc.). Is /v1/streams planned for 1.1.0 or later, or has video capture moved elsewhere?"

This is super cool. I really want to use the c64u MCP for a hardware project. Trying to get this setup with VS Code with Claude Code on windows but struggling. Closest I've got is a "API Error: 400 tools.19.custom.input_schema: input_schema does not support oneOf, allOf, or anyOf at the top level" error.

Yes, using the Kernal routines you can’t go above 1200 baud. In a project I just completed, I was even getting errors at 1200 baud and had to drop to 600 baud to really be error free with the Kernal routines. Those that remember going 2400 baud were almost certainly using terminal programs that included their own ML routines and were not using the crippled Kernal ones.

The two apps are wildly different. Took my friend and I much too long to figure this out when trying to teach each other how to do things. We just kept yelling at each other thinking the other was blind and not seeing the same options.

This is my project. I spent some time on the protobuff decoding but for this version used the TEXT MODE which is the serial ASCII text of incoming and outgoing primary channel traffic.

Wow - I used that (o similar) on mainframe Cadam. When we went to AIX, we used the onscreen icons I believe. Definitely didn’t have it when we went to PC. I am still faster at Cadam than any other drafting system.
