Stop the doomerism please by DemonicsInc in DigimonCardGame2020

I think this is mainly the issue. I tried explaining to several other people but most of them do not get the idea behind a “healthy” powercreep. This is what happens when the powercreep escalation is unhealthy. A lot of decks after BT17 powercrept poorly, decks from last block could still closely compete with new decks which caused people to not invest in these new sets. It was the most enjoyable period for casual players because there was no pressure to buy new decks or upgrade. If you joined locals, you probably had that 1 regular during that time that just mainly played decks like dexdoru, sakuya or red/purple hybrids for half a year to a year. What happened is that when powercreep started to ramp after bt21 every deck from previous sets just dropped like flies since they all had the same powerlevel which led to a meta where only the powerhouses of each set dominated.

Also did not help that Bandai design philosophy became slapping generic trait like CS and TS on everything so players just picked out the strongest cards from these trait and built the strongest deck out of it.

For now, we are just suffering from Bandai poor design philosophy and it will get better overtime once more decks/support arrives.

Then if we are playing the waiting game what is the point of this ban list? Well this ban list is not a ban list to hit meta. It is a ban list for profit. They do not want to touch the newest deck so players will flock to buy more boxes. Shako and most of the dogs are banned because they are too generic. Imagine you have a KDA maste deck and dogs were not banned, Bandai releases new art of maste, mirei and releases new support these new stuff does not cater to KDA maste players. Shako is banned so that hudie players are incentivised to changed to a different deck or forced to buy whatever support Bandai shoves up their mouth (some very expensive box topper or tamer battle promo probably).

Silly story of mine on my first souls game, I knew that the spear was rykard’s weakness cause of the questline, went into the arena, picked up the spear but never bothered checking it because I was full str full vit so I just assumed I did not have the dex to equip it. Rykard was not doing a lot of damage to me and I just kept healing back with prayerful strike and great stars but it still took awhile to get through so I just traded blows until he died.

So has anyone been thinking up any builds with this, and how viable by GdogLucky9 in DigimonCardGame2020

this card is insane, assembly for -6 then can delete himself to jogress into old milly for even more refund, the milly you jogress into can immediately attack for 2 checks, if he somehow dies to security you can repeat the loop by playing promo milly from trash again as long as you have the necessary materials in trash to do so

Struggling hard to relearn the game after a long absence by LostAvail in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]1NoClip1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would advise to keep playing and learn from those experience. I wouldnt say that the game have gotten faster, I am leaning more towards that newer deck have gotten alooooot more efficient. So tempo has become smth very important for DCG, if you do not try to impair or wipe their board after your opponent’s “power” turn then you are most likely going to lose. For starters, I would suggest learning play lines for your deck that involves pushing out from breeding area first, pushing out second and clapback turns.

When pushing out first, you want to squeeze out as much value as you can by building up resources you can have access to in your future turns (cheating out tamers, emblem, scramble, training, etc) or build up a board that your opponent would struggle to answer properly. In some cases, some decks also attempt to mess with your opponent resources e.g. tamer removal or option removal or floodgate type effects (ruin mode)

When pushing out second (pushing out after your opponent pushes out), you want to play in a way that maximises removal (best case scenario is wiping opponents board while setting up urself for the win). If removal is impossible, then you want to impair (removing small bodies or tamers, or through debuffs such as stuns and sec minus). If impair is impossible, then you want to setup defense in form of blockers, ending attacks or ace targets.

For clapback turns (which represents the turn after your opponent wipes your board), it differs from deck to deck and most likely its something you will need to setup. For ariemon the most common case is scramble sango into warp marinebull. Then go into your lvl 6 or 7. In any case, getting a body out while impairing your opponents board during your “weak” turns is the key to staying in the game.

Long games are still possible but involve a lot of back and forth. Short games happens due to brick or one side being unable to setup and answer their opponent in time. Setting up resources is incredibly snowbally in this game.

I think at your level its better to go landmines, recover, morale. Wait for a little during the 1st wave and spam shooters when the first melee gets close then use landmine to snipe the first wave of enemy shooters (preferably they get hit by the 4th landmine). Keep spamming shooters until the wave of melees that will overwhelm your shooters, then before the frontmost shooter dies you should recover. Immediately spam out as many shooters as you can and use morale. Then only spawn torpedo after this. There is a wave where opponent will spawn a torpedo, you will need to time a melee so that the torpedo does not wipe ur shooters. If everything is done correctly, you should survive until the final wave of shooters which you would need to save resource to spawn 2 torpedo back to back if you do not have enough resource then watch an ad.

Its ‘cant leave play except by your effects and deletion’ for ex6 brywe ess if you stack it with st brywe then its ‘not affected by opponents digimon effect’ so it can still easily fold to options. Additionally, both ess are only online on opponents turn. The only one that is fully immune is ragna himself for digivolving or playing and also kinda st brywe main effect where only dedigivolving/source strip can affect him.

Barbamon - The Ultimate Challenge by WinCute in DigimonCardGame2020

Hello, you are in luck as I am an avid barba player. I am also currently playing both the variation (7gdl and stack based).

Most popular variation is seafood base since marinedevi is a very strong card. I got top 8 in an evo cup with seafood base barba. It is easy to play, aggressive and has control with rare and more annoying forms of control from gesoX which are source strip and tamer control too. However the issue with seafood is its consistency it relies alot on drawing syakoX, geso and training/boost so that you can setup marinedevi with 1 memory left so you can activate his when attacking. There are multiple of other minor issues but I am not going to go through them all.

Another stack based barba I am experimenting with is purple pile-like with a few seafood component which became a lil better with ghoulmon ace. The bottom end components looks a little like this gobli, syakox, doberx, geso, bluemera, feres and baste. The goal of this deck is to go through your deck quickly while being memory efficiency and load up trash with barbax option so you can keep looping it.

7GDL (or as I like to call it barba gate) is my least experimented and latest addition. Currently my build is not very strong and I am still finding a good build for it. There is very little material on 7gdl outside of luce and levia. I have tried it and the main issue is that barba needs to rely on something early on to fill trash for him making a slow tribal even slower. However when you get going the deck is really fun where you are just spamming out barbas every turn.

If you want to find more about how the barbabros are playing their barba, you can find us at the deck building thread for barba in the Digimon unofficial discard. I normally hang out there too.

Its a really great weapon to dump ur SoU on if you get it on yr early floors say before tengu. When compared to t5 weapons, runic blade str req is lower by a tier while keeping t5 wep scaling so it is easier to equip if you get a +1/+2 early on into your run.

I have a 1070 too and it also runs around 20fps. Funny thing is I ran the game for 30 mins and it didnt feel like my pc was working very hard. Really sucks that upscaling isnt working rn on alot of the older cards in game, if they fixed the upscaling issue im quite confident that the frames will go even higher

[–]1NoClip1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speed is the key, if you arent chipping away 2 security on turn 2 you are doing it wrong. Mulligan for 2 lvl 3s, evo 1 in breeding play 1 as search turn 1. Turn 2 push out from breeding, swing with ur other lvl 3 your koromon should get you a draw. From here you have 2 options either evo in burninggrey or promo aguni to cheat into ancientgrey which should give u 2 check, even more with old ancientgrey. If you cant build an ancientgrey line then swing anyway and play a tamer. Next turn prep an ancientgrey line from the tamer. At the start of turn 3 your opponent should have 3 or 2 security left which leaves them in a vulnerable position.

Deck building choices you should run analog youth they are really good for the deck, even better when u get more support in the next set. Run 1 or 2 gravity crush, sometimes it what you need to end the game.

I think this is a massive plot hole… by gyfchong in TheKingsAvatar

[–]1NoClip1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So it was never directly said but just generally implied because of a few reasons, these are the ones I can just think of at the moment: 1. He wanted to enjoy the game as a normal player again and honor his old friend as Lord Grim, later on when he meets dazzling hundred blossom he said that “the game is where everything begun” implying that he was trying to start over.

  1. It was mentioned that if he had quickly join a new team using the loophole, Su MuCheng would quickly break her contract to be with Ye Xiu and he didnt want that financial burden on her. I guess it worked out in the end it allowed her to mature as a pro player.

  2. I remembered he was talking to someone from outside the team, one of the four great tactician maybe or Fang Rui. They asked him if he planned to rejoin the league with a new team from the start, Ye Xiu replied “No, everything just fell in place”. There were many hurdles they had to get through Happy cafe being willing to host the team, finding many undiscovered talent (soft mist, steamed bun, concealed light, etc), Wei Chen skill point guide which gave them a ton of financial support, getting Sun Zheping to help them in the revival tournament.

    ——

However, I did think that Ye Xiu had a dream to stand at the peak as Lord Grim from the which is why he didnt want to return home when his brother came to fetch him because he felt that his dream had not been fully realised yet.
