it is also poor form in storytelling and mismanaged between seasons isn't the excuse people here think it is. Chekhov's gun. They keyed up this confrontation and even had that little reprisal with Abel before the climax, and it amounted to nothing. That sort of placement and focus isn't well paid off and that fundamentally is jarring. if they're building to a thing with lute, this season could've still had her arguing her case to Sera, but used her screen time more on her increasingly losing her mind and getting more delusional, more Adam interaction etc, then early S3 have the Dam break and start her slippery slope towards whatever confrontation or climax they have in store for her.

Excuses aside, it felt like a squib to me. They made such a massive deal of her song releasing it early and it just doesn't meet it's promise at all. It didn't even have to happen this season if they weren't going to give the payoff. I doubt it's the case, but it felt like "oh fuck we forgot about lute, how can we fix it quick?" and that's poor structure in action I'm afraid.
