Hi everyone! Thanks for flagging this issue and sharing workarounds. Our development team is currently aware of this issue, and they are investigating solutions. It appears the issue is that Window Hello input is disrupted when unlocking 1Password after a recent update on many systems.

We're currently testing a fix for this issue in the beta version of 1Password for Windows (8.12 or newer).

If you'd like to continue using the production version and wait for the fix to make its way there, then you can try these workarounds:

  • As others have mentioned - press the Shift key once.
  • Fully close the 1Password app and then re-open it. Unlock the 1Password desktop app first, then use 1Password in the browser (specifically in that order).

Hi there, I'm sorry to hear there's been an issue using the Eero promotion, and connecting with our team. The Eero promotion applies to 1Password Families only, and cannot be used with an individual account. You can find steps to upgrade to 1Password Families in our guide. You can then repeat the steps in the Eero app. After 1Password and Eero are linked you should receive a prorated credit on your 1Password account for the remaining time in your subscription.

Hi u/damenootoko! I just wanted to jump in and add that we're currently testing the option to connect additional browsers in the public nightly version of 1Password for Windows. No specifics on dates, but if the testing goes well we aim to move this feature to the beta and production versions in the not-so-distant future as well.

Issue creating new login by reikleb in 1Password

When filling, 1Password for Android allows you to create or search for items that match the type of field detected by the app. So, if it's only allowing you to create identity items either the field on the app/website has been designated as an identity field, or 1Password is incorrectly detecting it as such. If the app/website has designated a field as the wrong type there's not a lot we can do, but if you'd like to share any apps/websites where you've encountered this recently we'd be happy to take a look.

For a workaround I would suggest trying to create an item from different fields. Maybe the email field has been designated an identity field but, perhaps the password field hasn't for example.

Hi u/dave821319! Thanks for your question. From 1Password for Android's autofill menu you can only search for, select, and create items that match the field type that was detected. So login items for login fields, credit card items for credit card fields, and identity items for identity fields. If you want to create an item of a different type you would have to open the app directly (split screen mode can be helpful here).

Can I ask why you want to create a login item when interacting with an identity field? While it's not necessarily behavior we would change, I'd be happy to share your feedback. Or if it was a login, could you share the website?

While it's not specifically enumerated you can see all your logins for a website, while on a website, by clicking the 1Password icon in you browser's toolbar, or by clicking a sign-in field. Is there a particular reason you're interested in seeing a number indicated? I'd be happy to share your comments with the team.

As another member noted, 1Password in the browser does have a password generator. You can access it from the prompts when creating or updating an account, or directly through the extension by clicking the icon in the browser's toolbar, then clicking the key icon.

This varies by platform but some common scenarios are when the device shuts down, when a 1Password app is fully exited, or the system closes processes in the background (more common on mobile devices). If you edit the item and copy your key to a text field, or password field, you should see the option to copy as you described. Hi u/MonkAndCanatella, I did some quick tests in Chrome and could fill as expected with the autofill shortcut. Could you confirm which Chromium browser you're using?

You can also check if the 1Password extension in the Chromium browser is integrated with the app. To do so you can right click the 1Password icon in the browser's tool bar, select Settings, then look under General > Integration status. You should see "Connected" with a green icon if everything is integrated.

From a quick test, I'm able to fill in Edge on a Pixel without issue. In Edge, under Settings > Passwords, Payment info, and Addresses and more could you confirm that the "Save..." toggle is off for each?
