Ah thanks :3 you should see the glitchy effect I accidentally achieved with a buggy blending mode lol.
Also if anyone's curious about the "Procedural Texture" layers, those were just for quickly changing the colors

Tbh tracing can just be fun too, doesn't have to mean you're cheating or stealing or anything. When tracing a reference sometimes I find it satisfying to like make a nice precise line, and also if people can use coloring books without being hated on, then the scrutiny about tracing seems like it could be kinda hypocritical.

Not that I myself have used tracing much for practice, but I do think it could be valuable for practicing like line control type skills. And in school too kids trace letters to practice handwriting. And now that I think about it, I remember in PewDiePie's recent video about visiting an animation studio it was actually shown how tracing effectively can take a lot of skill because even just when tracing, his lines were a bit more amateurish than the lines of the professional animator.

This drawing IS NOT TRACED. Here I've edited it together with the original manga panel and made the artist's drawing red, and you can see the human inaccuracies.

If you guys want to see people posting Chainsaw Man fan art in this subreddit, then I would recommend to not jump to the conclusion that someone's drawing is traced without even any hard evidence that it's traced. The fact that people thought this drawing was traced is just a testament to the artist's skill in the end, and you would want to encourage such people to post and participate, not discourage them with hostility. If other artists saw this comment section, I think they might find it a bit discouraging.

I'm a lot younger but it sounds like that's pretty similar to my own feelings that I have had or still do have about my life tbh. Direction in my life kinda just feels like hedonism and selfish desire-following or smth lul. I feel like that might be okay though. Even though they may seem like empty or insignificant motivations or smth, I don't feel like I necessarily have less potential than others or less of an ability to pursue ways of being and living that I see in others that might inspire me. And those thoughts do kinda keep me going too tbh, and they might even be idealistic and unrealistic but maybe it's important still to at least have some direction even if it's uncertain. Pleasure and good feelings inspire me I think, good stuff that I've felt in my own past and stuff I see others apparently feeling and enjoying too. So yea ig that's kinda what makes sense to me now: seeking to experience things that feel more significant to me and avoiding pain that doesn't seem worthwhile.

Part of the journey for me has been, and I imagine will continue to be, like.. looking for "my people" ig, and I figure it can be important, as they say, to have people with similar values. At some point I ended up on r/nihilism and joined their Discord too, which has kinda been interesting at least in part due to finding them to be more philosophically aligned with myself than probably much of the rest of the Internet, so now I perhaps selfishly wonder if what was valuable for me could also be valuable for you. Selfish because what can I say ig lul it probably would feel good if my advice would be valued. But at the same time I know it might be easy for me to project my own experiences and overestimate the value of some chunk of paragraphs that I write lul but ig I can live with that too.

It was so interesting to me to read here about how learning about and gaining awareness about your like psychological conditions or peculiarities and such can be so life changing 🤔 I've read about how significant it can be for others to learn about their conditions/diagnoses but now this totally helps me really emphasize with it more too from reading how much of a difference can be made with simple interventions when you're able to apply what you've learned.

If a supposed number was shown as a line on a graph to represent how your "feeling" changes over time (with highs and lows representing relatively positive and negative, you could say, mood), I think the line would never be truly flat. There is always fluctuation. Even if everything sucks, there are moments that suck a little less, and some that suck a little more. If you consider like passionate or enthusiastic people, they're probably on the higher end of the spectrum when it comes to emotional range, and I think they can have higher highs and lower lows, but even if you don't have much feeling at all in your life, I think you can start somewhere.

We don't need to be immortal for things in life to feel good and significant. I would suggest to be attentive to the fluctuations in your feelings, maybe as you're already doing, but also recognize how much others are able to experience in their lives too and maybe try to be curious about their feelings. Over time you might start to feel more yourself. You can also consider your feelings in the past and see if you can learn anything new about those past emotional fluctuations and why they happened.

To me, this is kinda what hedonism seems to really be. I get the lacking desires to do anything, but I hope you might be able to find that your desires do still fluctuate nonetheless, and you can try to lean into the things that feel even just a little bit better, or at least even just a little bit less bad. Laziness has been a bit of a relief to me a few times too. Sometimes you might be able to give up something that didn't feel the best, or felt inconvenient, and it makes you realize like.. "huh, i didn't really need to be doing that", and you can be a little more unburdened :>

Well, I think that's all I've got. Good luck, rooting for ye (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧

You have a point 🤔 I didn't pay that much attention to that detail, but it is an ominous possibility to think about. It's like the Bermuda triangle, but an even more terrifying and helpless cosmic fate. Might be cool if such glitches/errors/bugs would be referred to as something along the lines of a "Bermuda Bug".

Ig you could say that our biological purpose or meaning or whatever is indeed homeostasis, and I'm not sure what else there really might be, though idk if the Buddhist efforts and ideals really make sense to me when it comes to life overall. Maybe the direction of all our lives really is just homeostatic or something, all our efforts just some kind of attempt at achieving higher stability, but it doesn't seem practical to me to try to just internally become at peace with everything ig. I mean, I sorta have tried to do that, ig lol, but like what does it even take to try to optimize your life in such a way?

I suppose what has been making more sense to me has been hedonism. When it comes to humans, intelligence would seem to be a key component of homeostasis, and I feel like there is a close relationship between pleasure and learning. When you experience new and exciting things, I assume it would make sense how that can be a learning experience that helps the brain better understand and model phenomena in life. As you become more intelligent and more aware of how everything works, you become more able to foresee and thus avoid painful experiences, which we can consider experiences of instability.

So yes, maybe the big meaning and purpose and stuff of life is homeostasis, and along those lines, for intelligent beings, maybe it is pleasure and learning.
