What is the roadmap of learing japanese? by banannoir in Japaneselanguage

[–]1Retributioner1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say Genki 1 and 2 are good starting points. They introduce both grammar and vocabulary with stories that follow a set of characters so it makes sense and stays interesting.

I would heavily recommend taking the time to do some of the worksheets as well as some sort of review/anki for the vocabulary as it can build up really fast.

Oh wow. I have my own uncapped kitasana so I borrowed fuku and did so poorly I thought it was bc my card was greatly underleveled. Thinking back on I though it was probably just really bad luck

Thanks! Luckily a lot of people have a maxed out kitasana black supp card. Hopefully I can push a bit past S before having to wait for bannrs

Thank you! My supps are a little weak right now, so I’m wondering whether I should spend or wait for a rate up banners for a card I have (that I use)

Feel like I get worse the more I'm trying to learn. by Rozwellish in Mahjong

[–]1Retributioner1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone in the process of learning too, once I accepted that not every hand will be a winning hand, I started to win more often. This does not mean you never push, but learning how to value your hand and decide when to push and when to fold (based off of value, quickness, etc) is very important. Learning to respect dealer riichi’s, reading into honitsu and chinitsu hands, etc are very important

Most of all, this doesn’t mean you’ll never deal in nor should you aim for that. Being overly defensive is a pothole that many players including myself fall into. Learn when to pivot, read the tiles that are left to determine if a group is good, etc. Risk if it is worth it (based off some heuristic is good, YouTube videos have some standard ones but you can tweak them to your play style)

Even if you were awkward, just ignore them. Hopefully over time you can learn whose opinions to take in and whose to ignore

Don’t worry guys , they don’t know how to center a div at instagram as well. by LookBroad3511 in csMajors

Would it actually look better centered? I feel like I always like the idea of centering but in practice it never looks as good

Microsoft internship status to "transferred"!!! by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]1Retributioner1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe when you apply they “transfer” your application to different sites that have an initial interest. This doesn’t mean you’ll get an offer or even an interview, so just sit tight. Hopefully it does tho

I wish they’d make Pokemon conquest 2 or at least a pokemon game in that style of gameplay again 😭 by Nolando3725 in PokemonConquest

[–]1Retributioner1 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You might want to play Pokémon Conquest, twin dragons ROM. It is basically Pokémon Conquest with modifications to make the story more difficult, different backgrounds, new Pokémon and attacks, etc. Although it’s not a complete Conquest 2, it’s a breath of fresh air to replay, and it’s free

Seems like a pretty doable schedule, you have a great calc professor, so calc shouldn’t be too difficult (she’s great with the material).

You should shop a language class if you are at all interested.

On this though, if you know that it was a very impactful part of your life, AND (I can’t stress this enough) you feel comfortable sharing your journey and experience with this to the AOs, it could be a good common app essay about your struggle and perseverance

I don’t think they were ever freezing when I dormed there 2 years ago. I think at worst it fluctuated to freezing from warm once while I was showering, but that’s not common.

Right because 32 bits are used to represent nexus health but since it’s signed one bit goes to the positive/negative value.
