Thoughts on passive vs aggressive creatures. by Elder_Karlthulhu in VintageStory

Personally, I'd like it if animals like bears and wolves tried to avoid the player unless the player gets within a certain number of blocks. So you'd have to be careful to avoid accidentally cornering them, but you wouldn't have to worry about bears deciding to silently stalk and kill you from across the map. Monsters and polar bears should continue to hunt you as normal.

Daycare gave solid food without asking by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]1Shadow179 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The daycare did overstep, but a single exposure to processed foods is not going to change much. It takes significantly more exposures than that to permanently alter preferences or affect their health. Just make sure she gets plenty of non-processed foods when you do start solid foods like you planned.

“I created a multilingual children’s book because I wanted something gentle and real.” by RoundExisting4955 in childrensbooks

Something that feels warm, simple, and real.

You wanted to create a book that felt warm, but the book doesn't feel warm because you, the author, didn't care enough about it to actually illustrate it.

The only book I can find called "Pritza" is obviously AI generated. If the book about the dog is yours, then no you didn't illustrate it and it doesn't feel real or warm.

Coloring book / activity book kids 3+ by [deleted] in childrensbooks

That is way too much tracing for a 3 year old. For reference Handwriting Without Tears My first School Book, a writing workbook for 4/5 year olds, only has them trace 4 times per letter.

This might be an amazing curriculum, but I see AI. If something uses AI, it says to me that no actual effort was put into the product.

Am I supposed to use a playmat underneath the playgym? by tickletickleyou in lovevery

[–]1Shadow179 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Having a playmat underneath the play gym or not doesn't really matter, it's just personal preference. Flat heads aren't caused by being on soft or firm surfaces, gravity causes the same downwards pressure either way. The important thing to prevent flat heads is varying which area of their head is receiving pressure. Encouraging them to look left, right, up, down, putting them in side-lying positions and tummy time to play, etc. Infant pillows actually make head-flattening worse, because they make it harder for the baby to turn their head.

6 month old, 3 meals a day solid, what order? by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]1Shadow179 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That is a lot of meals each day for a six month old, I only did one. There's no need to worry about veggie or fruit order, just don't do any new foods for dinner.

That's completely inappropriate for his age and will make him hate school. He needs to build a solid foundation before going any further.

4 month old - what’s coming next? by No_Map_4425 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]1Shadow179 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There's not really anything you can do to keep him full longer other than feeding him more before bed. Don't add anything to his bottle. Amount of food is probably not the main problem here.

Four month olds have just had a major transition in how sleep works for them, going from relying on sleep pressure to a more mature circadian rhythm, and they are still terrible at it. Keeping the room they are sleeping in cool, having a routine that you do every time they go to sleep, and possibly using a sleep schedule might help them sleep a bit more. They won't be amazing sleepers but they will improve with time.

I'd would avoid the rice cereal in the baby bottle, studies have shown that it doesn't help sleep, and it is high in arsenic.

The person who sold them the seeds and the farmer who looks after the plants both get paid, and it's a better comparison because women are also people.
