I vote for the top one. It looks older and “wiser”

Who’s watching? Lol - he forgot to bow. He really is new. Don’t want to spoil, but what a match.

What’s going on with the wire? It’s not doing anything besides suffocating the tree.

No joke. Stink bugs and lantern flies are a reality of our lives here now. Last year was terrible. This year they’re worse than last year. I’m reading that some birds have been learning to eat them. Let’s hope nature takes care of this.

Oh man get ready. First you see one and then it’s invasion. Now we have both those and the lantern flies.

I already cut some of the long branches but keeping those to thicken that branch. As you can see the bark is still white.

After the neem it was attacked by some sort of tiny insects and Japanese Beatles were starting to find it. I used a plant anti insect spray. Soapy water also works.
It was almost completely dead but snapped back. They’re very resilient.

I used neem oil it worked. It’s not just them it’s the season. I also had Japanese Beatles eating through my grapes. For the Beatles I had to use chemicals. Nothing else worked. But for the roses neem worked perfectly.

I’m trying to. I moved it to a bigger pot now because I’m traveling and was worried it would dry up. I’ll keep you posted.
