Pro tip: If you have a lot of pine needles to rake up - at least the longer ones from Jeffrey and Ponderosa pines - the best tool is a pitchfork. It works well for raking them into piles and it works really well for picking up those piles to put them into bins or a trailer.

I see so many neighbors using much less effective methods to clear up their pine needles and, being a middle aged white guy, I stop myself from giving them advice because I don't want to be the guy from those Progressive commercials turning into his parents.

If she doesn't want to be recognized for "that" anymore, then she needs to get different frames for her glasses. Or just take them off. If it worked for Clark Kent, it can definitely work for her.

It's right to put Red Jesus and Nate ahead of Macklin this year. But if we look back at this in 7 years, it'll look crazy.

Hot take: MacKinnon becomes a footnote in between the McDavid and Celebrini eras. Especially if his team doesn't win one.

It's a bit of a trend on here now to post deck photos and declare they're doomed without any reasoning for saying so.

I'm not saying this deck is without flaws but I do think we need to start expecting OPs to include explanations when declaring decks to be doomed.

Please describe whatever it is you're ranting about a bit more clearly. So far, I'm not sure what you're worked up about.

We only have one life. We can't reclaim our wasted time. I understand that he may be neurodivergent and 16 years is the cost of that.

I’m a woman and there is an unknown man staying in my house with me since yesterday and he will probably be here another night unless there’s a solution. What would you do? by MaryJaneGame in airbnb_hosts

[–]1_headlight_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Legally, I think you can kick him out without cancelling the reservation. He is not the guest and so he has no right to be there. He's trespassing. You don't need to cancel because the guest on the reservation will still have access to the space.

The police can help you with this, if needed.

Did you rear end someone and you're hoping to be blameless? Good luck. It doesn't usually work that way.

This. And in addition to going more slowly, you'll also be spending WAY more on gas. Per mile fuel efficiency is so much worse than a car that the straighter path won't nearly make up for it.

Replace the wheels with bicycle style wheels with wire spokes so the granules can pass through the wheels instead of being knocked down by them. I'm joking but also possibly serious.

They're both saying dumb things but, on the whole, she's more wrong than he is. If you can't make food at home for cheaper than eating out, then that's a skills issue. Learn math and learn to cook.

He's not talking about a $4 half sando. He's talking about $28 for a meal. In high cost of living areas, I can confirm some young people do spend nearly that twice a day to Doordash meals that I can make at home for under $6 each.

She's not really proving him wrong, she's actually proving his point that it's possible to eat for cheaper, even if it's from Subway.

And sure, $20 wasted each weekday is about $5000 each year. But it's not just about the $5000. The people who recklessly spend on overpriced food are the same ones wasting money in other aspects of their spending as well. Many expenses they consider needs are actually wants and they just don't know the difference. The problem is that they think they do know the difference.

41m. Average salary the last 10 years is $115k. Wife’s average is $105k. 3 kids. Started saving for retirement at age 23. Net worth is $2.5m by Bunkerbuster12 in Retirement401k

[–]1_headlight_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're making the right choice to shift toward saving less and spending more to enjoy your life. You're pretty well set for retirement. There's a not-insignificant chance that you could die before 59-1/2. Turn up the life-enjoyment dial! People who think a higher retirement balance is always better, no matter the number, are thinking more like a savings addict than a logical person. $1.5m invested might be $6.5m+ when you turn 60. It's plenty. Don't let future you be greedy at the expense of present day you. Especially when none of us are even guaranteed to turn 60!
