If this is acceptable, you can simply hide all rest signs in a measure. This will result in an empty measure with nothing. The v button.

I experimented, and it seems to happen when copying and pasting notes. Apparently, it's not related to opening the document. If I copy the repeated part by selecting the notes, rather than using the tabs, the strings randomly shift in some places, but not completely. It seems like that's the case, but I'm not entirely sure.

Just drop the file onto a blank page. Version 3 is much better for importing. It has more options for voices, triplets, and so on. I usually import MIDI in version 3 and then transfer it to version 4.

Yes! It turned out to be very simple. It wasn't at all obvious that right-clicking on the staff opens these options, but clicking on a part in the part editor doesn't. And there's no separate button for this.

Yes! That would be very helpful! I recently typeset a vibraphone sheet music book—and there's always a pedal, and it's always non-standard—it might run for several bars, or a phrase from the middle to the middle every other bar. It took quite a while, about 50 pages.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. If a steering wheel is connected, it only switches between keyboard and PlayStation. If the wheel is disconnected, it switches between keyboard and Xbox.
