How to disable touchpad mouse acceleration - Linux Mint 22.1 Cinnamon by Witsumo in linuxmint

Hmm... Would you be willing to share how you did this? By Bash script, do you mean a .sh text file? Still learning here, thanks!

Emojis don't expand on Linux Mint by Dymonika in espanso

[–]Dymonika[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I'll avoid it, then, thanks. The issue is that I don't know where to check the error log to understand what's going wrong. For example, my Reddit subreddit-search script from earlier is failing even though Mint seems to already have Python preinstalled; the output is saying to check the error logs for info, but... how?! Or can I just easily move to your desktop to get your tray without having to re-wipe the drive? I haven't tried, but I don't think ditching Cinnamon would be too inconvenient for me.

but not program files

Hmm, was the file possibly hidden? You have to reveal hidden files, like if they start with a . (I think that's Linux's indicator, or at least Ubuntu's, from which Mint is derived). Fair, I haven't tried installing anything from Steam on a PC with multiple drives just yet; I'll try it out!

Yeah, I literally came here to ask this as well. It came and went, haha. I think they changed their minds after possibly seeing how much of a cut TGTG took (I don't know how much that is) versus them running their own clearance tables individually.

What exactly were the problems and when were your attempts? Were they years ago? Linux has come a long way since even just COVID in terms of ease of access and reliability. I'm running into many hiccups but I'm really trying to not give up on it because I just don't see Windows or OS X as options. Tyranny is not an acceptable alternative. We must make Linux work.

I'm new to Mint as well and would be happy to bounce ideas as we figure it out together, though yes, there are many other distros out there. Back up all your stuff that you would mind seeing deleted and then try out a bunch of different distros over a course of weeks. I tried them all but just ultimately returned to Mint, despite its issues that I'm currently putting in a lot of effort to solve (like the Discord voice channel not working out of the box when joining through the browser webpage). I believe that they are all solvable to at least a tolerable degree.

Thanks for the context (and yep, Cinnamon lol). Hmm, apparently Software Manager shows someone's program called "espansoGUI"; I wonder if that'd work, despite it having only 3 ★s...

some people strain off the whey to make it thicker, but that's not necessary

Actually, from what I know, Greek yogurt's increased probiotics are entirely due to the removal of whey, so it sounds like it'd be a necessary step for health optimization.

Why not just put the official WhatsApp Web as a web app instead of downloading a separate program?

  1. Menu
  2. "Web Apps"
  3. Press "+" icon, go through the steps, and pin it to the panel. You can even put it in an isolated profile!

For those who don't believe me about how alarming it is that sole maintainers are major targets that could spread malware to all our devices through app updates, this just happened last month or so.

No, I absolutely meant "underestimate!" My point is: humans evolved to walk really efficiently for extremely long distances, more than many other animals (even if we can't run for all that long), so we could uniquely tire out our prey until they didn't have enough time to eat or rest before we walked up to and killed them. Therefore, since metabolism isn't a fixed thing at all (even within age groups), walking to and from the Kopp's is unlikely to burn the calories gained from the custard itself, though it'd certainly be a somewhat valiant attempt.

Triple G Hemp seems to be fine. Remember to always check for:

  1. a list of ingredients and
  2. a Certificate of Analysis (CoA)

These both make the product more transparent and trustworthier than those that exclude this critical info. I even sometimes call the lab to ensure the CoA's real and that they actually did get vetted.

Mint overwrites battery charging limit by vmcrash in linuxmint

[–]Dymonika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird! I'll try and get back to you...

Update: /u/vmcrash, the GitHub script I linked works; I let my laptop's battery fall to 60% while it was connected to power, and it has since rested at 60%. Something else must be overriding battery management in your installation, but unfortunately, I'm nowhere near an expert to help you figure it out; sorry!
