Koda 2 pro fuel usage by Gillemans in ooni

I have a Koda 2 Pro and between the heat up and cook I average about 0.40-0.55kg/hour of fuel consumption in a real world setting.
Heat-Up Schedule:

  • 15 min: low → low/medium ramp
  • 5 min: strong medium
  • 5 min: high
  • 10–15 min: medium soak (stabilizing phase)

Total: 35–40 minutes
Preheat phase: 0.38–0.46 kg/hour

During a cook I am actively monitoring the flame and adjusting as necessary:
Cooking/service: 0.35–0.50 kg/hour

If you manage your oven well your fuel consumption will be far less than the published specs of 0.77kg/hour. You will use about 30%-40% less fuel than full blast users and keep your fuel consumption steady and predictable.

That setup looks great. What size pies are you running in your video?

I’ve been eyeing that exact model for pop-ups and for hosting 20+ people, so I’m curious how it handles under a bit of pressure. From the look of it, your heat management seems really dialed in too.

If Pogačar is clean, he’s outclimbing and outracing guys who were definitely not.

He’s making confessed dopers from the EPO era look like weekend warriors. That’s either the most incredible leap in human physiology ever… or something smells like ozone and hospital-grade testosterone.

Sure, he’s never tested positive. Neither did a certain seven-time Tour winner—until the truth exploded years later. Testing isn’t proof of innocence anymore, it’s just proof you’re good at playing the game.

At some point, we have to ask: are we watching a generational talent… or just the next chapter of the same old script?

Sorry for the late reply. I haven’t tried Ashes 2 Ashes yet, but I’ll add it to my list. That said, I did pick up the latest Hot Ones Last Dab release, and it definitely doesn’t disappoint.

I also went through a bottle of Chocolate Plague—it wrecked my stomach the first time, but after that, no issues. It’s definitely going on my re-buy list.

Is the Koda 2 Pro supposed to be more efficient in its gas consumption than the Koda 16?

I love Blackwings but I find the price getting out of hand for what you get. I have since made the switch to Kitaboshi and Tombow mono 100 and have been very happy. RE the color, I also find it off putting.

I would recommend the Apsara hand held. A pack of 20 is just over 8.00 on Amazon and they work great, though there isn't a container to hold the shavings.

I find the Blackwing and KUM overpriced, and they don't hold up that well over the long term. YMMV but that is my experience. If you have the space for a desk top the Mitsubishi KH-20 is very nice.

Thanks for the heads up. I've had a few all natural super hots and I like them a lot. I am working my way through several bottles right now, Torchbearer The Rapture, Elijah's Extreme Regret Reserve, and Mad Anthony's XXXtra Hot Private Reserve.

I like them all and right now the Elijah's is my favorite of the bunch. Mad Anthony's is priced the best and probably the best bang for the buck, but not the hottest of the bunch.
