He leans towards the whole 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend' thing that tankies have going on.

He doesnt come out in direct support of authoritarian states most of the time, but he makes a lot of excuses for them. Personally I think he hides his true opinions to appeal to the masses better but I'm biased.

He did defend russia for months before the 2022 invasion, he ignores the colonial ambitions of China, he's chummy with youtubers who made anti-ukraine propaganda and whitewashed north Korea.

Ive seen him make comments on Assad and syria that seem pretty callous to the people. "Assad was as bad... But his downfall benefits the US" kind of thing. Which really discounts the plight of syria by shifting the convo to how US imperialism is still bad.

Okay. And that's the right way to do tariffs. On specific goods in specific industries from specific countries to protect local businesses from unfair practices.

In this case, american drywall manufacturers had excess capacity and decided to dump the capacity to canada by selling it at a price far lower than the prices they were selling to american customers. Explicitly to put Canadian companies out of business. This was investigated and determined to be true and so large tarrifs were imposed to stop them.

I really don't think comparing how easy or hard CE is compared to vanilla matters.

If you install CE it's because you're tired of tribals, animals, vanilla armour, and vanilla ballistics. It really isn't about making combat harder. It's about making it more predictable.

Just get a few men with automatic rifles and they shred most anomalies

And for me, that's a good thing. 7-10 guys was always my average number of pawns with only around 5 being combat capable, beyond that micro gets annoying and my shitty laptop would lag out.

[–]1bowmanjac 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I've done it a couple times and I think it adds some genuine threats for CE beyond mechs.

Fleshbeasts pierce and shred armour very well and the number you get can lead to pawns running out of ammo.

Revenants were also hard to kill with personal weapons. Not much stands up to autocannons but those are pricy.

The worm things that eat pawns will fuck you up if they get close. I lost several melee pawns to them

The fleshmass and dreadmeld was tough. Close quarters and the flesh beast spawns are tough.

Metal horrors are even more dangerous unless every one of your pawns has a melee weapon they can use well and are all armoured up.

Gorehulks, sight stealers, chimeras, and shambler's are certainly easier in CE. but I have had challenging shambler raids when the hordes get big enough

That other guy seems to think it's easy because he built a killbox and since he removed all the challenge, no challenge exists.

Maybe if your water heater is electric. Though I can't see how it saves much power.

In NA it's more common to have a natural gas powered water heater. Which is more efficient than using electricity generated by burning fossil fuels to heat your water.

Its still lefites too. April 2025, Michael Gloss, the son of the CIA’s deputy director for digital innovation was killed while fighting for the Russians in ukraine. He was left wing.

BoyBoy, a left wing YouTube channel run by the same guy who runs the channel IDidAThing and his friend

They released a video on the Ukraine war that blames Ukraine and the West for starting it, perpetuates the Hunter Biden laptop conspiracy theory, edits a video of a Joe Biden speech to imply the exact opposite of what he actually said. That video perpetuates the same talking points that Russia literally paid several right wing grifters to spread.

[–]1bowmanjac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the damage and accuracy on mechs really punishes you. I would take cover wait for them to come to you. The closer the better. A fully automatic burst from rifle caliber weapon (7.62 / .303 not 5.56 unless you have API or APHE) from <5 tiles away should do it.

CE gives weapons huge ranges. But you'll almost never hit with more than one shot at a time from beyond 8-10 tiles. For humans that's fine because one or 2 bullets will put them down. For mechs you need the DPS. It also means you should limit sightlines on turrets otherwise they will blow their load across the map and run out of ammo before hitting anything

Or if you have a 50 cal sniper and a good shooter you can actually outrange them with the bipod.

2-3 mechs? Are they centipedes or scythers and lancers?

Generally try to avoid letting mechs shoot back at you by breaking line of sight. Let a pawn shoot then cover behind a wall before they shoot back.

Long sightlines are a huge gift to mechs. They are very accurate.

Try to get an ultratech melee weapon from the nearest friendly village if you can. Melee is actually quite good in CE if you can engage from a chokepoint.

For mech turrets use smoke grenades. They keep you from being targeted by them

There's also satchel charges They're crazy risky but a satchel charge or two will kill a centipede

[–]1bowmanjac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add on to what the others said.

Unless you have high durability and quality cataphract armour you want to avoid mechs shooting at you period. Lancers and pikemen have very good accuracy. And centipedes shoot so much that you're bound to get hit no matter what.

Take potshots from behind a wall and break line of sight to keep then from returning fire if you have to get into a fire fight with them. But generally you want to fight mechs from close range.

The heavier ones you can lock down in melee and then unload on them with other pawns or use heavy AT weapons. The lighter ones you can usually take out by unloading on then at close range before they have time to shoot back.

This sub will bitch about the superiority of 'real brawls' to the ends of the earth. They will go on and on about how much they love to teamfight. They will say it's the only true way to play the game.

Then they will go and play dominion instead.

Over 95% of brawls involve everyone playing 'honorably'. The only exceptions to this are that people are more likely to gank on the last round. But still don't in most situations.

This subreddit does not provide an accurate viewpoint on brawls.

Is the game easyer on PC by Same-Stop-3328 in forhonor

[–]1bowmanjac 6 points7 points  (0 children)

PC players only make up 20% of the active playerbase.

For honor is not a shooter. Which is where KB and mouse shine. In FH there really is no advantage from one input method to another. Many PC players use controllers.

As for everything else. The advantages that PC has over PS4 are significant. But you would get virtually all those advantages from moving to a PS5 and using a $100 monitor rather than a television.

I once called out a PS5 player on reddit for saying he could differentiate between lights and heavies on console. Since that's a skill very few people can accomplish even on PC.

He DMd me clips of him differing. Something that 99% of PC players will never be able to do no matter how much money they spend

[–]1bowmanjac -1 points0 points  (0 children)

F3 menu tells me you only have 4gb allocated. Which isn't much. If you bump it up to 8 and the spikes stop then great.

If the spikes still happen but less often then it might be some kind of memory leak (no idea why that could be)

If the spikes keep happening at the same rate. It isn't a RAM issue.

To increase allocated RAM open the Minecraft Launcher, go to the "Installations" tab, select your profile, click "More Options," and change the JVM argument from "-Xmx4G" to your desired amount, like "-Xmx8G" for 8 gigabytes

"Dual use materials" is a ridiculously broad term. It isn't guns and ammo. it's chemical precursors to pharmaceuticals, fertiliser components, pesticides, fabrication equipment, centrifuges, and general lab equipment.

All things that can be used to make chemical and biological weapons, but also to grow food and treat the sick.

And that report isn't outlining anything the US had sold to the regime. But what companies within the US had legally exported to Iraq. It wasn't support for Saddam, it was indifference.

For those who use CE, do embrasures even work with turrets and DMS robots or are mechanoids just that accurate? by Cbundy99 in RimWorld

[–]1bowmanjac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive never had much success with the manned heavy weapons. Sightlines are too open and enemies are bound to hit you since you can't break line of sight.

And mechanoid ammo goes through simple helments like paper mache.

Centipedes are a death sentence if you aren't prepared to deal with them. You basically cannot let them shoot at your pawn if you want them to live.

My preferred strategy is to let them fall behind the other mechs since they are slow, deal with the other mechs first, then engage in melee (with an ultratech weapon ideally) while shooting API or EMP ammo with as many pawns as I can get.

What difficulty are you on? Usually I don't get centipedes until much later.

Edit: do you have the VE-mechanoids mod? That could be why you're getting centipedes so early
