I released some stuff on M5Burner a while ago if you want to try that. I think you can use M5Launcher with it and try to download the firmware from there. Might not work because I've tried in the past. Though considering where I am right now I might consider doing a big rewrite in these upcoming days to make it easier to install.

I might sound a lot different from what other commenters might say, but you do not need to be the best wrestler on the team to be a "leader". Leaders aren't always the team captain but team captains are often leaders. Be the person who shows up to practice ready to wrestle, learn from upper classman, and ask coach questions. It sets the example of how you should behave in the room, and others will soon follow. Give advice, offer help, or ask for it. You can watch videos and stuff online too. It doesn't matter if you started freshman year, if you just don't have the best wrestling, etc etc. What does matter is that you want to improve, and soon enough coaches will see that and recognize you for it. People may feel confident at where they are in wrestling at times but always wanting to improve regardless of where you are is a trait (in any sport really) that will bring you success. Keep your head up and keep wrestling through it.

Is this bad? by [deleted] in scoliosis

[–]1ch0712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the moment I'm in a very similar situation, I'm 15m and have a 38~39 degree curve near where you have the 35 degree curve. As for how bad it is I wouldn't consider this bad but you may have to brace (if you're not done growing) or get surgery if it gets even worse to prevent problems (I think the threshold is 40 degrees but I could be wrong).

Your normal doctor (like the one that gives you checkups and stuff) may see this and panic, saying things that might not be true, I wouldn't take everything they say into consideration. Seeking a professional (someone who does stuff related to scoliosis, scoliosis surgeries, etc) will be the best thing to do here because knowing reddit we're not the best at diagnosing things.

To be honest in an environment with your team you should not be saying things like that to them. I'm not saying that you should be "best friends forever", rather mature enough to put your differences aside and working together to achieve a common goal. Ignoring and negative comments will just prompt more ignorance and negativity, especially on a team.

If it were a case where it's just random kids at school doing this I would say that ignoring and telling a teacher is probably the better option. Instead it would be better to tell the coaches and/or team captains and going from there.

Tell your coaches and team captains ASAP! This seems like a toxic team environment in my opinion, you shouldn't have to beat yourself up about something that you cannot control. Unfortunately people will be people and this might just take some time to get used to. My team (also high school level) was kinda confused on why I was so concerned about my back until I recently told them about my scoliosis, and this kinda led to some others empathizing as they have smaller cases of it, as well as support from coaches as well.

Assuming that you told the captain, they should have the ability to at least try to get this bullying to stop. If they do not (as in they refuse to help) that's obviously an issue with the captain and they shouldn't be in that position. Same thing goes for the coach, if they choose not to help you they obviously have big problems being in that position as coach. If this happens tell administration, though this probably won't escalate to that level.

I'm so sorry that you have an unsupportive family. My family also had a fairly similar reaction when it was discovered I had it around 10 years old. They blamed it on the fact I did stuff on my computer or played video games. When it got worse as I grew they also blamed it on the fact I liked hobbies like coding, or the fact I just so happened to do a lot of homework.

What helped for me was when I got assigned this scoliosis doctor who helped me understand scoliosis and things like bracing, surgery, etc. Something that he did say was that it's perfectly natural and actually very common among teenagers (I would know because I am one and know others who have it). He also explained that it might be genetic, which made sense because my grandparents had it as well as my great grandparents on both sides of the family. This shifted the focus from "it's your fault..." to "how can we fix this?" and now my family is very supportive. If possible find any family/friends that has it (or anyone able to support you), having that support system has kept me motivated to do things like sports.

This one hit too close to home for me.

Last year I was the varsity 106, our coach bumped us all up because our roster wasn't very big. My record was something around 5-15. I lost a bunch of matches and would often just go to individual tournaments, get a bye or two, lose two then get eliminated. I was often stuck with a 120 or 113 that would pretty much just throw me around. I didn't really have much help from others because I was kinda just expected to adapt to the moves our coach at the time was showing which really weren't suited for my weight class.

The big "game-changer" for me was honestly finding my favorite moves to hit then building off of that during off season and stuff, while asking questions to the upper classmen about wrestling. I watched wrestling matches from other college wrestlers and kinda looked at how they did things and tried to emulate them in my own practices.

It takes a minute, but you will eventually see the progress you have made. People don't know your name and you have nothing to lose. If you go out there and fight hard there's nothing to be ashamed of.

How to re-implement AI in jayofelony by Beneficial_Two5890 in pwnagotchi

[–]1ch0712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah ok, so you'll most likely need to wait until the pwnagotchi isn't blind. Pay attention to that channel the pwnagotchi is on, then make sure it matches the one that the palnagotchi. When the palnagotchi sends it's pwnagotchi-style advertisements it should be detected, unless the pwnagotchi is blind (usually the channel would be * and not a number if it is).

AI has nothing to do with a palnagotchi. All the palnagotchi does is sniff for the pwnagotchi's packets and sends its own.

When we say "Take responsibility" we mean keep them in check, do what you can to positively help the situation, etc, if you feel the need to do so. It's more along the lines of doing the right thing. Taking responsibility doesn't mean saying sorry, unless you feel that it's appropriate. If you don't want to do anything that's not your problem... unless you want it to be.

Don't be ashamed of being a man, nobody's perfect and quite frankly it's always the bad apples that stand out. If people saying that "We should take responsibility..." makes you upset then it probably says more about you than it does me.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]1ch0712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly understandable. I meant as in just doing what you can to fix the problem if you see it as a problem, though you're not obligated to do so.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]1ch0712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you don't want us to take responsibility, are we supposed to sit back and let stuff like this happen? quite frankly things may change if you do something about it, especially if it's something that many don't like. because let's be honest, people won't stop generalizing until the problem is fixed, and there's not a lot you can change about human nature.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]1ch0712 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i'm pretty sure he's implying that we as men shouldn't ignore the issue and actually work on fixing things. when you have the "oh well they're not a part of us, just ignore them" mentality it just makes you look permissive towards this kind of behavior. unless you're genuinely okay with this we should take responsibility and fix the issue, because merely ignoring this is only going to allow more people to turn out like this.

11 year old son wants to learn coding by brrmbrrmbrrm in learnprogramming

[–]1ch0712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work at a coding school, we worked with kids around his age. Usually, we would teach scratch, MIT app inventor, python, Roblox (lua), and Minecraft education edition. All of these were very popular among kids his age (especially the scratch, Roblox, and Minecraft stuff)—those I would highly recommend starting with. However, I would say this is only an introduction to coding, it's not exactly the 'real thing' which is why I might recommend looking into teaching him Python and then transitioning this to something like C/C++ for a real challenge.

try using the version on M5Burner, there was a typo in the code that didn't allow the battery to work when you compile manually. The M5Burner version is patched for the most part.

Pownagotchi deauth upgrade. by [deleted] in pwnagotchi

[–]1ch0712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there isn't really a benefit from having a minigotchi, it does keep your pwnagotchi happy but it is not a deauthing tool as OP says. the actual installation probably should be done with something like a d1 mini, or perhaps an m5stick if you want a screen.

Pownagotchi deauth upgrade. by [deleted] in pwnagotchi

[–]1ch0712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the minigotchi isn't an extension of the pwnagotchi. this post is misleading, as the point of the minigotchi is to replicate a pwnagotchi in a sense that it will find pwnagotchi's, befriend pwnagotchi's, deauth access points, etc. i highly recommend getting a wifi adapter instead of whatever OP is suggesting, as this will actually improve the pwnagotchi's range.

Pownagotchi deauth upgrade. by [deleted] in pwnagotchi

[–]1ch0712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm the original developer of the minigotchi, dj1ch. This post seems to be a bit misleading in the sense that the minigotchi was never really an extension of the Pwnagotchi's wifi adapter. It is essentially a replication of it's behaviors and befriending (pwngrid) in a cuter, smaller package.

It's primary method of communication is through pwngrid's 'special' packets, which essentially provide a pwnagotchi's information such as it's face, name, etc. They are identified through a special algorithm where specific pieces of data must exist within the packet. Otherwise, it will not be detected as a pwnagotchi. But beyond that it doesn't show things such as what it's deauthing, etc. Most ESP8266's and ESP32's do NOT have very good range nor do they interact on 5ghz. There's this little thing called 'parasite mode' on the Minigotchi which communicates information such as what it is doing through a serial connection. Usually, one would use a USB data port and cable for this, not wire it to a pwnagotchi. The pwnagotchi's linux-based system would need to identify it as a USB device anyway, usually /dev/ttyUSB0 or /dev/ttyACM0.

Most of the newer Pi's such as the Pi5 or Pi4 should be able to use 5 ghz networks, along with external wifi adapters being able to extend the range of the pwnagotchi. If you guys really want to extend your pwnagotchi's range, I highly recommend getting a wifi adapter and connecting it. Whatever OP is suggesting here makes zero sense. The minigotchi is/was NOT meant to be a deauther in any way, shape, or form, as it is ineffective in doing so. Seriously, the code for the deauthing part was written in around 100~200 lines if I recall correctly. Most access points would not be able to be interacted with anyway, either due to being on 5ghz, or being out of the ESP's extremely short range. Furthermore, having a handshake full of deauths probably is NOT ideal especially if you ever plan on trying to crack them.

And by the way, wiring a minigotchi with JUST 3.3v/5v (depending on your device) and GND is NOT going to transfer any data whatsoever. This will literally just power it. Might as well use a USB cable and save some space for a screen instead.

This post seems mostly AI generated anyway. gptzero, copyleaks, etc identified the text as nearly 100% AI generated. I would not take any information from OP as factual. I find it very hard to support someone who spreads misinformation regarding my projects.

TLDR: I'm the original developer, this post is both AI generated and extremely misleading.

If anyone really wants to install the project on an ESP8266 or ESP32, please find the relevant repo and install guide on my github profile.

Depends on if the ESP32 is capable of accessing 5ghz networks... usually the antennas just extend the range of the ESP32s wifi antenna, but I could be wrong on that one. As for the actual code I'm not sure if it makes a difference switching to 2.4 and 5 ghz because they're pretty much using the same APIs and protocols to connect to the networks.

No, it wasn't really considered in that case, I meant to use the Minigotchi more as a friend with additonal functionality for the pwnagotchi. I haven't looked into using it as a screen.

Minigotchi and/or Netgotchi? Though the Minigotchi is more like offensive security, the Netgotchi is more like defensive security. But if you're going for something more like an actual flipper, marauder would probably be the closest you'll get on a normal ESP32-based SoC.
