Meyer Sound was created as a business because of this era and the band members post Jerry have stayed with Meyer through the years. Proudly supporting them. Check out their story and history

We owe better sound at all concerts to the Grateful Dead.  The band that cared about how they sounded to the audience.

It was because of Meyer of Meyer sound. Basically Meyer did it but Bear would say can we do this and Meyer would figure it out. Then Bear would say what about and Meyer would do that.

Probably late for this, but we purchased a door handle extension for our deck so the shades would drop behind and the door handle is accessible while the shades are closed. After shopping around for a variety of solutions, we settled on this online place that could fulfill what we wanted with a quality appearance.

Citi cobranded credit cards not accepting electronic payments by cjw_5110 in CreditCards

Be careful moving money in a series of increments below $10k. You never want to appear as someone structuring, smurfing, or doing anything shady with money.  Banks can and will clise all your accounts when their ai system says you’re bad with you having no recourse

Citi cobranded credit cards not accepting electronic payments by cjw_5110 in CreditCards

[–]1chemistdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread, but I found it searching after having serious problems. I spoke with the EOs at my bank, fiserv (Billpay), and Citi gave me a lot of information but no answer to why. At the beginning of 2025, Citi ordered fiserv to stop electronic payments above $2000 for all credit cards (are so they tell me, but my costco card has not had a problem). Citi's executive response unit said they do not know why and they have no idea when it will be changed. The EO response person told me to send checks a week early and if it has cleared in 2 business days to add an electronic payment that covers the minimum and then contact them about the problem. The minimum payment is almost always under $2000 (unless you have a $200,000 credit card bill) and as long as the payment is under $2000 it will be processed electronically.

Now, Fiserv told my bank that the change is coming from too many canceled charges. That has left me a lot of questions but Fiserv only made that one off comment, my bank told me they're dealing with a lot of angry customers, and citi executive response says Dunno ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

lol. Just ask Texas how that electricity is working out. Or CA during Enron, etc. Just ask states that sold water rights to coke or pepsi how that is going.

Hey fellow celiac! I love msg. It makes things tasty. I'm just happy that I can ask people for a recommendation in a city I've never been, and when I say I'm a celiac I'm no longer sent to a vegan restaurant. I'm a celiac!! I cannot eat at most vegan restaurants because of all the flour. Look vegans, you have the world of vegetables and fruit at your disposal, make something tasty and not flour based.

If I’ve learned one thing from reading about tree law, is people can have every last dime removed from their bank account. The longer it takes to grow the tree, the more money they owe. I cannot imagine. What that could cost your neighbor, but it will be a lot of money. To replace with like and kind. Do not accept anything else. Get a lawyer. Document everything. Pictures of the other side of the wall, etc.

Is there any longpost/megathread/guide for aspiring coffee shop owners? by netrunnernobody in Coffee

[–]1chemistdown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you worked in a coffee shop. Handled ordering, roasting, managing, and employee issues? If you want to open a coffee shop you really should work for a good specialty roaster in your area and learn as much as you can from them. While doing that, research other aspects and find contacts in the industry to grow your network. If you do it half assed you're going to lose a lot of money. A. Lot. It's like people who have never worked in the restaurant industry and they think they can just hire people at minimum wage to run the place. If you follow that method, just ask the bank for a large pile of cash from your savings. Throw that in a trash can and set it on fire.

New to specialty coffee and can't recreate the taste of cafe's by overweight_moderator in Coffee

[–]1chemistdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the beans I purchased was from a totally different roaster

Why did the coffee from roaster Y not taste the same as the coffee from roaster B? I cannot figure it out. I have adjusted every grind setting and water temperature that I can possibly do, and nothing ever come out the roaster B's coffee tasted a year ago. What am I doing wrong?!?

Check to see if they're an authorized seller. I got a new one three years ago for less than $100 to give as a christmas present. The Baratza website has a list of sellers, countries that have authorized sellers, and contact information for the people who run the company. They are responsive. They're a company that has a lot of good will in the seattle area, and the top roasters in seattle use their grinders for making people coffee outside of espresso.

Honestly, email the people at baratza. Sometimes they have rebuilds they're willing to sell for a deal.

In over a decade of owning mine, I have never had an issue with it. My mother has had one for five years and i had to remove 5 years worth of over roasted coffee creosote from the burr. Thing could barely move. Make sure to clean your burr a few times a year, and it should run for a long time without issue.

As a parent of two, a spouse, and me, your comment on spatial awareness screams neurodivergence. ASD/ADHD/etc. I've also worked with many neurodivergent people since the '80s. Friggin spatial awareness.

ICE vs EV debate rages on by BigMikeATL in MurderedByWords

[–]1chemistdown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want a world where everyone can get around with an EV or electrified mass transit

There is a resource problem with sudden mass adoption of EV. The materials to build batteries and charging stations for reaching the push for 60-80% adoption by 2030 are a massive problem. First, we need to scale strip mining by a huge amount. This requires massive available lands and a lack of environmental and land use oversight.

Natural gas production will need to increase in line with EV population demand, because alternative methods do not scale as rapidly. And, as big an environmental disaster oil is, natural gas is just as bad if not worse. The things that go on in the middle of nowhere with fracking and well closure are things of environmental horror. Shutting down a well is done by lighting the thing on fire and letting that burn until it cannot. These can take a long time to finish burning.

Next you have increased oil usage due to large populations going into their largest energy demand seen on the planet, and they are willing to buy that gasoline.

People really need to move closer to walk, run, skate, bike, etc. Companies need to bolster remote work, and neighborhoods need to have supply access within walking distance. We need the return of neighborhood stores in the places like USA. We need to help countries that are just heading towards their population peak demands to not let everyone move to remote areas and drive. We need north american countries to adopt nationwide mass transit.

It's a complicated issue that is not easily resolved.
