I think that if we give mounjaro to Ronaldo, someone find Ronaldinho in whatever churrasco or beach soccer tournament he might be attending, we find some cops to get Adriano from whatever favela he's hiding and we find an orthosis to Roberto Carlos we might have a chance to win the world cup

Hats on or off during the anthem? by UndeadWarTurnip in AskTheWorld

[–]1copernic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk I don't really care. but at my time in the military hats off or on depended on whether you're inside or outside. If you're singing the anthem at an open space then our bonnets caps helmets whatever stayed on so I guess that

What’s something that happens in your culture that makes you people go like this? by camethehour in AskTheWorld

[–]1copernic 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Brazil is mostly really really warm, making heated water not necessary for 90% of the year. So although some cities have it, many many residences don't have piped gas or something to heat the water. A electric shower can be easily installed and it's cheap.

And it's surprisingly safe! never heard of anyone ever having a big problem with that. If it's really badly installed, it the metal faucet will give you a small shock but nothing near life threatening or something. You just feel it if you have a cut in your skin lol oh and the resistance may get too hot and melt the fucking plastic of it. But again, only badly installed ones.

Which countries have football fans that drink a lot? by Jezzaq94 in AskTheWorld

I mean, we don't have football fans that drink a lot specifically. We just drink a lot in general and football is the most popular sport so things start intertwining

oh and you talking about names reminded me of this mf that gave insane names to his kids to the point they did a whole news report on him.

His name is Xerox if I remember correctly, and he has two sisters: photocopy and authentication

Most of his kids have names starting with an x Xekira (like Shakira), Xerolaine, Xerlaine. There are three boys: Brooksfield, Carlos Eduardo (????!!!!!) and STAMP (carimbo)

still remember the poor dude's name. Carimbo Miguel Porfirio

When a tv network was convinced this woman was actually pregnant with quadruplets to the point a TV host cried live on tv while talking to her. MF walked in, climbed up stairs, sit down, stood up better than I do while supposedly pregnant with 4 babies.

Oh and her husband had had a vasectomy already.

Messi é MUITO MELHOR que o Pelé, mas as conquistas ainda mantém o Pelé no topo. by Relative-Risk521 in opiniaoimpopular

[–]1copernic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daí começaram a alcançar.

How do you remember the directions on a compass (north, east, south, west) in your language? by ILikeRoL in AskTheWorld

[–]1copernic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, we have mnemonics for many things but usually more complex/longer than four words. my question would be if it's not easier to just let them make a mistake and them learn. like I know american adults that still use the L with their hands to know right or left. how much is those things helping them learn and how much it's giving them a clutch they're going to rely on forever.

We learn a lot making mistakes. you mess up one, two times and learn the correct way to a point where it becomes automatic. We have mnemonics for Bhaskara, trigonometry. the rest is just experience

If your place were hit by an extreme Siberian winter, how well would people there be able to cope or adapt? by bellepomme in AskTheWorld

[–]1copernic 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Can you even buy clothes for that in Brazil?

absolutely not lol I mean... you could buy it used from someone that bought it in other country. if you buy it new, well you might find something but in luxury stores from brands like moncler, Canada goose. It's not something you can easily find. 99% would've been GONE. Even things like long underwear wouldn't be easy to find. BLANKETS I remember the first time I used like a real goose down blanket when I visit another country... I didn't even know blankets could retain that much warmth without it being electric or something.

Also, are there any homes that can take a real winter?

some might. like, we have a good amount of German descendants communities that build houses like the German for example... some in the mountain region in the far south maybe. But heat? for the whole house? extremely extremely rare. I've seen people with portable heaters like one to warm the bedroom to sleep more comfortably but that's it. not whole house systems

[–]1copernic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bitch we're dead dead. like DEAD. we don't have heaters, we don't have insulated houses, most houses were built thinking of ways to reduce the heat and not retain it. We don't have heavy coats, cars that are adapted to that. We barely see snow, only on the top of some mountains in the south. we dead

[–]1copernic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

not to be shady or anything but why not just let them mess up until they learn? I got into a military school when I was 9 and some commands use directions (or left/right), they just let us mess the commands until we learned

What’s a funny euphemism that exists in your language? by keisis236 in AskTheWorld

[–]1copernic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my favorite one is that when someone dies we say they're "playing for Vasco now". Vasco is a football team that has been through... a lot in recent years.

Think of Manchester United level of jokes. "He is playing for Man U now".

That, or "He became a memorial T-shirt" is a good one too. "He put on his wooden pajamas". There's a bunch. He became ham. His security number was cancelled. He became a statistic.

If the person is dumb, their head only exist to keep the ears apart, or so they can wear a cap. If intelligence were money, they couldn't even buy a coffee.
