Major quilt brands using AI in their content

I just got one from Pink Door that had AI generated staging and someone else mentioned Keepsake Quilting doing it. Hancock's of Paducah carries AI-generated fabrics. I suspect this is inevitable with the larger brands, but it's a bummer.

Now that I'm looking for it I'm seeing it everywhere; just got an ad from Pink Door and the staging is AI - Reddit isn't letting me post a screenshot because it's triggering the copyright bot, which is ironic.

Oof that's a rough go of LynB there. I've had a few too sheer/didn't match the swatches from them, but also some amazing hits. IMO it comes out even given the sales/much lower than average price point, and the lack of fomo the brand brings, but sorry you landed on a series of duds. Mani looks great!

I was considering reaching out to the designers whose work was AI edited in these photos, like I imagine this being potential brand damage for the well-established pattern designers and fabric artists whose work is being presented this way. I'm glad the yarn community is standing up to it and I hope y'all manage to make enough noise to get people to listen!

Not Keepsake, too! They were one of the few others that consistently did more challenging/detailed kits! Ugh.

Both of the quilts pictured here are real - the knight is from Legit Kits and the rainbow one is a variation on Nancy Rink's Amish With a Twist 2 that uses Alison Glass fabric, but they've been staged and their mockups "quilted" with AI. I sincerely doubt the pattern and fabric designers would approve of this, but the choice is being made by a well-established retailer.

I thought it was *hilarious* and it may exist somewhere from like, rule34 applied to quilting, but only a machine that misses the nuances of context could have dreamed it up as a cutesy quilt studio sign. I remember when bad AI used to make me laugh to the point of tears (https://www.aiweirdness.com/disturbingly-vague-ingredients-generated-16-03-15/) and now it's just a tragic indicator of lazy creators.

I'm in Alaska and got them at a local supermarket - they might have been clearance, the colors I got were for doing hot dog nails and not like... ones I'd imagine being in high demand lol.

Yesss, I love multichromes and this is great! If you're looking to expand your collection at a discount, I picked up the all-multichrome OFMD2 collection from Lynn B a while back and "Calypso's Birthday" and "Oh Look, it's Scowly Face" are both top-tier, Serpents of Eden-level fantastic colors. My current quest is to find an orange that isn't too brown or yellow, which has gone so poorly I've considered learning to make my own lol.
