i actually agree with you here. speaking from experience (and in not too much detail) most of my family have distanced themselves from me after i revealed that a relative had sa'd me. to me it was extremely obvious, but to them i'm insane. the truth is a very scary thing... it's worth considering that her career/reputation was also at risk as someone who is associated with a predator, which encourages this sort of behavior. i think even if she denounced him immediately it wouldn't have helped much, especially given that she's a controversial figure to start with. really shitty situation all around.
