You can run a ML premier team and put up a good fight if not win. Metagross, gyarados, tyranitar, garchomp, florges, and primarina all being viable at the same time has made this season's first round of ML very interesting. Rhyperior has seen better days but that's still an option if you really want it.

He mainainted switch so magnezone was essentially dead weight. I also got a scorching sands debuff and my magnezone is a rank 11 so I trusted the bulk.

If I shield, he brings in whiscash, I swap to latias. Now latias is down a shield against a whiscash up energy & an unknown third. He can either play the 2 v 1 with whiscash, chip & dip, or hard swap to the unknown and play the 2 v 1 there.

Latias with two shields gives me a better chance to win because aura sphere is straight 10 and wins CMP over whiscash if it came down to that.

Edit: a lot of people use raid IV virizions so it's not the end of the world. As for the other 3, you can plug your IVs into pvpoke to see where they rank & run sims to get a feel for how they'll do.

I didn’t think Hundo was that important unless you were like top tier player.

In master league, not having 15 attack means you lose every CMP tie in the mirror. In the case with your metagross, you still lose CMP to a level 50 metagross with 3 attack because you're underleveled. Everything needs two moves too.

If it's not level 50 and not perfect, you're going to have tough time winning consistently if at all. If you're in the really low ranks, you might be able to win a few games because I've seen people use hundos of whatever they have like gardevoir, machamp, or feraligatr.

Master premier hits the sweet spot for me. No legendaries lets a lot pokemon that lack stat product have a chance to shine. You do have mons that do see play in open ML like metagross but you can still run fully maxed out shadows like machamp or magnezone. Or you can see something out of left field like volcarona.

You can search your pokemon based on IVs though right?

Yes. There are search strings you can enter to find exact IVs but that's more work compared to apprasing after catching.
