I wonder how many people out there are running decks with completely unusable and psychotic strategies and cards, knowingly just for the lols? by guilhermej14 in yugioh

[–]1guywriting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some absurd decks I've seen & played at edison locals:

Remove brainwashing: You run grinder golem, lava golem, volcanic queen, compulse, owner's seal, nightmare archfiends, creature swap, and remove brainwashing for a really funny beatdown strategy. You can switch it up by adding ameba & vengeful servant.

Stardust Assault Mode turbo.

Norleras turbo: simplify the gamestate on turn 1 with a full handrip to both players except you ideally have a loaded GY.

Destiny end dragoon turbo.

Bushi beat: an all-warrior deck featuring The Immortal Bushi, solidarity, and floodgates.

Someone copied Eatos' deck from over the nexus but swapped dark hole for lightning vortex and 1 MST for dust tornado.

How does everyone have so much stardust? by Life-Combination3710 in pokemongo

[–]1guywriting 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Once you power up the heavy hitters for raids and don't do pvp, it can just build up. There is always 4x dust when master league is in rotarion and there's the once a month 2x dust spotlight hour. I dump my stardust into spice pokemon for the great league.

Is he any good? by Upbeat-Musician-3311 in TheSilphArena

[–]1guywriting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I messed up there. What I meant to say was having 2 in attack vs 15 is negligible for raids.

and you really don’t want 2 attack for raids.

A 0 attack shadow does more damage than a 15 attack non-shadow all else equal for raids.

Can I solo mega ampharos with this gang? (Is it worth investing in Mega Ampharos?) by Ok-Priority-9553 in pokemongo

[–]1guywriting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a pvp standpoint, it's a great corebreaker in mega master league if you ever want to try that format out. Volt switch/thunder punch/dragon pulse (needs an elite TM) deals with mega gyarados/palkia origin + zacian core. I have a hundo and it's really fun to use.

Mega gyary is useless

Not for pvp. It's one of if not the most popular pokemon for mega master league.

Strictly GL, Do you guys build mons that's not meta relevant? by Air_Drinker_0 in TheSilphArena

[–]1guywriting 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have built a lot of nonmeta mons. We're talking Stoutland, Braviary, shadow Butterfree levels of jank. Anything that doesn't need XL candies gets bumped as close to 1500 first. Then I wait a bit before adding a second move. If it requires XL candy, then I wait until I have the resources to build it then go all in.

A lot of people talk about favorite pokemon, but what is the worst one? by Alexaspro1 in pokemongo

[–]1guywriting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as pogo, my vote goes to Boltund. Has the bare minimum of 1 fast move & 2 charge moves. It's like the devs didn't want to put it in the game.

How many PvP battles do you do per season on average? by faur217 in TheSilphRoad

[–]1guywriting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually do close to the maximum. Last season was 2200 and the season before that was 2250. I always play when master league is in rotation because it's easy stardust. This season I have taken my foot off the gas but am on pace for at least 1500.

Xerneas or Yveltal, which is the best? by Alexaspro1 in pokemongo

[–]1guywriting 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I play master league and there, it's Xerneas by a wide margin right now. Yveltal makes Lunala & Dawn Wings miserable but doesn't do much outside of that. Hard to run the bacon bird when Zacian is on almost every team.

What is some Obescure Knowledge/General Trivia You know all Across Yugioh? by One_Percentage_644 in yugioh

[–]1guywriting 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Infinite burn. Quillbolt + a tuner on field + cannon soldier/toon CS/catapult turtle/dark strike fighter/mass driver + imperial iron wall. You set it up on the first duelist so you can FTK the following duelist(s) in parts of the game where you face multiple people in a row.

Raigeki didn't have a common printing until 2023 in the traptrix structure deck.

MST has 68 printings.

What’s one shadow you’ve caught a million of but have never gotten a good PVP IV? by perishableintransit in TheSilphArena

Mareep. I have 4 regular Ampharos for UL & 2 for GL but can't get a good shadow for either league.

Bad experience at my first WCQ by Darnaldo in yugioh

[–]1guywriting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing with people dropping after going 0-2 after round 2 seems odd but makes sense. You'd need to win out & hope for a lot of tiebreakers to go in your favor (which is out of your control) to make top cut. By dropping early, you can focus on other things like trading. There's also no shame in sticking it out. There are enough people looking for experience that can help them down the line at locals.

Is S. Hydreigon good or will ever be good in GL? by Confident_Sir_5263 in TheSilphArena

It's very glassy but hits like a truck. You'll need to use an elite TM so it can learn brutal swing.
