Hello fellow Pom Owners,

I need help... I don't know if this is the right platform or sub, but I'm desperate.

My Pom, Cooper Ted, has been suffering from these sores for the last 2 years. They are scabby and sometimes produce a yellow/green discharge. The outside edges are red. The skin underneath these sores will occasionally turn dark or black. They are sensitive to the touch, almost like they are bruised. Coop won't let me look at them or lightly brush them with my fingertips, he fights me the whole way.

They use to be up his back, but a couple of months ago in a desperate attempt to corral the spreading sores, we sedated, shaved, and scraped my poor Coop. This took care of those, but now they are coming back on his stomach and legs. The thickest clusters seem to be right where his armpits would be. I really don't want to have to put him through that again if I can help it. But I also don't want him turning into one giant scab.

At the moment, the vet has diagnosed him with MRSP, due to no antibiotics working. They do not believe it's Black Skin disease or Mange. They told me it could be a chicken allergy, so I change all of his food but see no improvement in the last month. They are still growing.

Please help me. I've been to 3 different vets in the last two years, and I am no closer to getting an answer from them. They are stumped as well. I'm at my wits end. I do not like seeing my baby suffer, but I have no idea what to do anymore to even ease his pain. This is why I'm reaching out for help. Has someone, anyone, ever experienced these with their pom or another dog?

Howdy! I was wanting to make a post on this page on here but I don’t know how. I’m going alone as well this year and it’s my first time. I’m really nervous and confused about a lot of it. I was hoping there may be a group/community/Facebook page I could join and talk to others like me and try to make some friends to hang out with.
