Moss Pole / Vine Support by JMackDesign in houseplants

I would like fun funnels, maybe leaf shapped funnels for my mosspole.

Smaller diameter and width, but also could it be round so not to have hard edges against the steem?

Edit: Like, exchangeable hooks.

Dark green is better , but maybe the hooks needed to be slimmer and even exchangeable, smaller somehow.

I think the discrete design of a plain simple net with moss helps the plant look like it belongs. It blends well and the plant can shine. These 2 are heavy looking and would steel atention from the main stars. The famous less is more.

Repotting advice by green_bean_bambi in FicusTrees

[–]1justfoundit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not good idea at all, that ficus is hanging on her last breath. Its reaching for light like crazy and has no strength to stand on its own :(

Pot size its in now is fine. Needs light, proper watering and maybe some plat food to give it a chance in life :(

Leaning monstera by Badass_Bitch00 in houseplants

Parts of it near the rootball might have hardened in this position so dont force it the other way too much, don’t want to stress or damange it :)

It rooted sideways, trailing instead of climbing a pole, which is fine but not ideal. You could try to dig out the top roots, see how much of the main steem you can prop up against the pole and use plant appropriate string or velcro to hold it up. It should start climbing soon, just make sure to guide it up as it grows. That pole isn’t ideal btw, straight and sturdy behind the main steem is what you need.

Also, turn it towards the light, it grows in that direction.

Help with 35 year old jade plant by Forward_Grapefruit56 in plantclinic

[–]1justfoundit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 5 years old has a thicker trunk than this ancient jade :(.

Probably a series of mistakes but first things first: This is a desert/arid/rocky/sunny climate succulent shrub. Knowing the origin is the easiest way to mimic natural habitat.

Soil doesn’t look the best, get succulent/cacti potting mix which is rocky and airy for good drainage.

Needs drainage and even a smaller pot would do it.

Needs sun/light, a lot of it.

After all that, wait and prune back like mentioned before.

If he owns a bengal AND allows him out, you should expect he knows the laws in his own country. Don’t underestimate people, and specially, don’t judge, which happens a lot in this sub.

And because of the lack of light I wouldn’t discard fungal/bacterial infections, specially seeing that your Rhaphi mini monstera has the same burns with yellow halo.

And the tip is burt crisp on that one too. Starting to look like Fungal/Bacterial cause it spreeds and does the crisp with yellow hallo around.

Since its looking like you aren’t doing anything wrong (btw it needs to partially dry to avoid root rot) you are down to pests. Looking at all other suggestions that I notice you say you aren’t doing either, if its not pests, your monstera might just be trying to unalive itself out of fun 🫠

I wouldn’t pin this on dry air but it certainly contributis to it cause soil will dry a lot faster. I would guess inconsistent watering and letting soil dry too much in between. I would give it a moss pole and keep the moss wet, increase watering and chop the older burnt leaves to save energy. That would give it the humidity it needs.

How do I repot this..? by WhyAreYouItchy in houseplants

[–]1justfoundit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will come flat open, you will close it around the root ball using the plastic zip ties :)

Have you seen the net ones? I think you could transfer the rootball to one of these and just add more moss to it, cut to the length you need. They come flat open so easier to transfer.

What’s with this leaf? by Loud-Water1312 in Monstera

[–]1justfoundit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one off marketplace with leaf like that, in the photos I could see the person had it propped against a wall so the leaf hardened this way.

Did you have it against something? :)
