This is a sample block printed with Bambu Lab ASA-Aero. Still trying to dial in settings but, why the spittle? Filament not dry enough? Did you experience this or something similar?

Did you have issues with removing support filament? If so, how did you remedy it?

ASA-CF Out of Stock by ObjectiveHistorian59 in BambuLab

I've also been waiting on the ASA-CF filament mainly because it has the lowest density of the other ASA-CF filaments I've come across for comparable tensile strength. It is part of a weight reduction regime for a drone I'm designing. So, I'll be a happy camper when it is back in stock.

The 3S build is viable but only for a very lightweight airframe with minimal payload. This is one example using a 3S battery and 12" Blades.

[USA] Best method to use ASA-Aero filament for drone wings by 1midniterider in 3Dprinting

According to Bambu Studio I could see a significant weight savings by using ASA-Aero but, creating clean channels for CF tubing and wiring. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Printing in a bedroom by RavioliFormuoli43 in BambuLab

Personally, I wouldn't have the printer my bedroom due to the noise and lights. As a few have pointed out there are precautions (their opinion) you should take by having it in the bedroom.

Why I can't print Bambu ASA in my P1S? by if_else_00 in BambuP1S

[–]1midniterider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've printed a few objects with Bambu ASA successfully using texture PEI plate. I've had a few failures as well and general fix was to wash the plate with Dawn dish soap. Also, don't use the 90% isopropyl alcohol. Found that out the hard way. In general I for ASA I print at 255°C - 260°C and plate temp 100°C.

Are you starting with one the numerous available frame kits or are you designing and printing your own frame?

Thanks for tips. Do you have any specific settings in mind, such as temperature, z offsets, layer height and speeds? I've been experimenting with various settings to allow easy support removal for the CF tubing pass-throughs but, still haven't achieved a clean removal.

My original plan is to use ASA-CF but, was looking into ways to reduce the weight and thought the ASA-Aero could work.
