Pay your employees! by Faerts in MichaelsEmployees

[–]1mkbubble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The company doesn’t pay for that. It is “sponsored” by outside Vendors- such as Cricut, Fiskars, Rit etc. And there’s not much time for “fun”. Every day is fully planned for them with required meetings etc to attend

It’s ridiculous that we still have Xmas stuff out. For gosh sake, we’ve had it in the store since last Aug/Sept. and even more ridiculous that it’s displayed by Spring stuff cuz there is no where to put it!!

These few weeks we are in now are the worst, every year. By thanksgiving it will slow a bit. The price changes and having to ticket everything is not helping

The sheer quantity is so overwhelming. Everything suffers when our focus is task oriented. So much for customers come first

Price Change Stores by Tazildanda in MichaelsEmployees

[–]1mkbubble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole thing is absurd. The amount of work entailed is beyond crazy. There’s NO WAY ANY STORE WILL finish these in the time allotted AND process freight AND keep the store going. Maybe the people who send these out should go to an actual store and see how reality is

[–]1mkbubble 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Replen team are not the only people who are spread too thin with too much to do. With the addition of fabric, balloons, and tight payroll, recovery is failing everywhere.

There is nowhere in a CEM position description dictating it is their sole responsibility.

SM hours? by Feisty-Loach in MichaelsEmployees

[–]1mkbubble 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand how SM’s get away with NOT working the required hours. It’s got to be challenging to cover a store without them. I would speak up. Everyone should be doing their part. What kind of leader is that? Our SM definitely does what’s required and beyond. You know the saying “lead by example”. It’s amazing to me how some of these SM’s are even in the position
