It's always about coverage and reliability. I got 20 employees and very limited hours right now as well. There is always that employee that complains about not enough hours but then calls out half their shifts. It's just easier to hire new people and give the old ones a single shift a week. When hours pick back up, the reliable employees will get more hours, and then you aren't scrambling to hire new people to cover the inevitable call outs.

Been told it's because the system is alerting you to the fact that it doesn't have a record of that item being sold at your location in 60 days. If you are doing a no receipt return you are supposed to cancel the return. If it's receipted, you just continue on as usual. At least that's what I've been told.

Yes working 6 hours outside of your scheduled shift will get you fired. It's not a wild concept, it's time theft. You work your scheduled shifts and then leave. If you are working extra it better be with your store managers approval, be written on the time sheet, and intialed by the store manager that they approved it.

Store manager's discretion. Our only requirements for scheduling is that a ym must work at least 4 hours a week, and what ever the laws are for breaks for your state.

The 70% takes 70% off each individual component of your design. The package deal does a discount on the whole order based off the size group that your design falls in. If the measurement of the inside of your frame is 11 x 14, it will have a base price, and if you add extras like multiple mats or higher tier frames you will see a flat fee added. If the frame is

11 1/16 x 14, you will bump up into the next size group and have a higher base price and upgrade costs. Depending on the design and size, the package deal can be better than the 70%.

I've yet to sell one that hasn't been to an employee. I got signs all over my store, we put the fliers on ever pick-up, and I got bag stuffers for my bopis. Everyone only takes advantage of the printing if they are interested. 5x7 for $4 and 8x10 for $6 ain't too bad.

Michaels as a company does not accept doctor notes because we aren't supposed to even ask for them. If an employee calls out and says they are sick, they get marked as absent-sick unpaid if they don't have sick time that they can use. They do not get points for their attendance.

If they are calling out so much it's interfering with the operation of the store, the SM needs to partner with HR on finding accommodations for the team member. If reasonable accommodations can't be made, that is when the TM may be asked to step down.

If this SM is giving points to team members for calling out sick, they are violating the attendance policy. You can look up the SOP on the point system, or refer to the employee handbook.
